Purpose & Scope

Reporting to the Chief Financial & Investment Officer (CFIO), this role is responsible for oversight of risk and business performance across Renewable Energy East (ex-China), including Australia and Southeast Asia.

Working closely with Investment Management and Finance, the role supports risk monitoring and reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and post-investment reviews , ensuring assets deliver against investment thesis , financial targets, and operational KPIs, underpinned by strong risk discipline within the Integrated Assurance Framework (IAF).

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Performance, Planning & Integration
  • Drive portfolio-wide performance monitoring across financial, operational, and strategic KPIs aligned with investment thesis and value creation plans.
  • Partner with Investment Management and Finance on budgeting and forecasting, ensuring robust assumptions and integration of risks into plans.
  • Deep-dive into performance variance and drive improvement actions.
  • Support post-investment reviews, assessing performance against underwriting assumptions and capturing lessons learnt.
  • Lead integration of new assets and businesses into performance frameworks, including KPIs, reporting standards, and tracking against investment case.
  • Work with asset owners and market CEOs to improve performance, optimise returns, and unlock value.
  • Risk Governance, Control & Insights
  • Lead deployment and enhancement of the Integrated Assurance Framework (IAF) across the region (Line 2).
  • Oversee risk identification, assessment, and mitigation, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and effective internal controls.
  • Monitor key risk indicators, emerging risks, and exposures, ensuring compliance with risk limits. Escalate for action timely.
  • Strengthen governance and reporting frameworks, ensuring timely remediation of control gaps.
  • Business Advisory & Investment Support
  • Act as a strategic partner to LOB leadership and market CEOs on performance, risk, and value creation.
  • Support investment and divestment decisions through commercial, financial, and risk analysis.
  • Drive integration of governance, risk, and performance frameworks into new assets and post-M&A activities.
  • Incident, Integrity & Business Resilience
  • Oversee incident management, investigations, and whistleblowing matters, ensuring timely resolution and control improvements.
  • Promote a strong culture of integrity, accountability, and risk-aware decision-making.
  • Enhance business continuity and crisis management, minimising operational and financial disruption.

Profile

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in finance, audit or risk management
  • Experience in renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors is highly desirable.
  • Commercial & Financial Acumen – Strong understanding of investment drivers, financial performance, and value creation.
  • Performance Management & Analytics – Ability to translate data into actionable insights linked to outcomes.
  • Risk & Governance Expertise – strong knowledge of risk management, internal controls, and assurance frameworks.
  • Strategic Business Partnering – Ability to influence senior stakeholders across Investment, Finance, and business teams.
  • Communication & Executive Reporting – Clear, concise, and impactful communication for decision-making forums.
  • Change & Integration Management – Experience in post-M&A integration and embedding frameworks across markets.
  • Judgment & Resilience – Strong decision-making in dynamic, complex environments.
  • Global mindset with excellent risk-based, analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
