Description of the mission

A Snapshot of Your Day

You will lead a team of R&D engineers developing a gas turbine to be run on ammonia—paving the way to a future decarbonized energy system. The primary goal is to design and validate an ammonia-fueled gas turbine, with specific milestones including initial design completion, simulation validation, and pilot facility commissioning. The R&D team for the MGT product line is mainly based in Finspång, Sweden and Gurgaon, India, but now, in conjunction with a customer-specific pilot application, we are establishing a team based in Singapore to engage in this specific project.

Together with the R&D discipline leads in Finspång, you will build the new team in Singapore by recruiting and onboarding skilled and motivated staff. As the team is built, you will lead their daily work in the specific R&D project, with work areas including mechanical design, advanced fluid dynamics, combustion and mechanical integrity simulation, as well as preparing and eventually setting up and being part of running verification tests in the pilot facility to be built.

This role offers unique opportunities for career advancement, exposure to cutting-edge technologies, and collaboration with global experts in sustainable energy solutions. The project is an important part of Siemens Energy’s R&D roadmap to provide power generation for a decarbonized future and will take place in close collaboration with a forward-looking and ambitious customer. By joining this team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of clean energy and making a tangible contribution to global decarbonization efforts. The team will be part of moving the research boundaries forward, interact closely with the leading discipline experts from the Siemens Energy global engineering network and the MGT R&D team in Finspång.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • You will establish and lead an R&D team dedicated to developing innovative solutions for decarbonized power generation, setting clear objectives and overseeing the delivery of key milestones such as initial design completion, simulation validation, and pilot facility commissioning.
  • You will mentor team members through regular feedback sessions, technical workshops, and hands-on project guidance to foster their professional growth and cultivate excellence in technical development.
  • You will actively contribute to the leadership team for the MGT R&D organization, shaping strategy and driving progress across the product line.
  • You will coordinate R&D project activities in Singapore, serving as a bridge to the existing teams in Finspång and Gurgaon, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge transfer across locations.
  • This role offers a unique opportunity to lead cutting-edge R&D initiatives while collaborating with international teams in Singapore, Finspång, and Gurgaon, driving innovation in decarbonized power generation.
