Smarter Good is a mission-driven, global professional services firm for the social impact sector. We are seeking our first CEO to succeed our Founder. At 12 years old Smarter Good is a flourishing firm with a team of 100 exceptional changemakers and an impressive set of client partnerships. We envision a visionary CEO steeped in the social impact sector who will join Smarter Good with significant experience in nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, consulting, and/or professional services.
The CEO has the unique opportunity to steer Smarter Good into its next phase of growth and impact. As the head of a global, profitable medium-sized professional services firm, the CEO is positioned to drive significant growth and to amplify the company’s impact and influence within the social sector. With a seasoned executive team and a team of 100 exceptional professionals who are collaborative and purpose-driven, the CEO will chart a strategic direction that builds on current strengths and harnesses opportunities for innovation. The CEO will forge new external partnerships and opportunities and will leverage their existing networks to find fresh and exciting ways for Smarter Good to collaborate with nonprofit client partners and to be of service to the social impact sector.

Setting and Executing Organizational Vision and Strategy: The CEO is responsible for driving Smarter Good's social sector impact by setting the organization's vision and strategic plans, working with the team to establish a clear impact model, and actively representing that model to external stakeholders. They are also responsible for identifying new market or service opportunities, maintaining comparative advantages, and mitigating risks, all while ensuring alignment with the organization's impact goals.
Communicating Effectively with All Stakeholders: The CEO serves as the primary representative of Smarter Good, effectively communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders including the public, media, government officials, investors, partners, employees, clients, and service providers. They actively build relationships within the social sector, driving client acquisition and fostering collaborations. Additionally, the CEO plays a crucial role in developing and implementing sales strategies while establishing thought leadership within the industry.
Building the Senior Leadership Team: The CEO is responsible for leading the development and execution of Smarter Good's global organizational strategy, setting goals, and overseeing their implementation. They also build and manage the senior leadership team, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic vision.
Making Capital Allocation Decisions: The CEO is responsible for the organization's overall financial strategy, including setting the budget, managing capital allocation decisions, and identifying opportunities to raise funds or reinvest surplus capital to support strategic initiatives and growth.
Setting Vision, Values, and Organizational Culture: The mission, vision, and values while it is a collaborative effort among the senior team, it is the CEO who will ultimately steer that culture in any number of different directions.
