➔ Description of the mission

Role Description

The Regenerative Impact Manager is the heartbeat of our regenerative mission on-island. This person is equal parts educator, communicator, operator, and storyteller. They lead the resort’s sustainability journey — from zero-waste systems to staff training — while serving as an ambassador for the Song Saa Foundation whenever the conservation team is in the field.

We require someone who can inspire, not just manage. Someone who can turn sustainability into culture — helping every staff member see themselves as a steward of the islands, a guardian of nature, and a custodian of guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Regenerative Tourism Leadership

  • Develop and implement environmental strategies and policies aligned with Song Saa’s regenerative philosophy.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance sustainability performance across resort operations.
  • Lead all resort-based regenerative initiatives: waste, water, biodiversity, circular economy practices, sustainable supply chain, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with departments to integrate sustainability into guest experiences, resort culture, and daily operations.

Zero Waste Transition

  • Design and oversee the resort’s transition to zero waste.
  • Implement and manage systems for composting, food waste diversion, glass crushing, plastics recycling, and upcycling.
  • Track performance, measure impact, and report on progress to leadership and owners.

Training, Culture & Staff Stewardship

  • Train staff at all levels to become ambassadors of the islands — conservation-aware, confident communicators, and proud custodians of nature.
  • Work with department heads to embed day-to-day sustainability standards in workflows, SOPs, and guest interactions.
  • Create pride and ownership within the team around conservation and environmental care.

Guest Experience, Tours & Storytelling

  • Lead sustainability, conservation, and marine tours when the Song Saa Foundation team is off-site.
  • Speak confidently with guests, journalists, media, and VIP visitors about Song Saa’s conservation mission.
  • Prepare compelling storytelling for newsletters, guest materials, social channels, and in-villa information.

Reporting & Communication

  • Produce monthly and quarterly sustainability reports on KPIs, progress, and impact.
  • Develop presentations for owners, investors, media partners, and accreditation bodies.
  • Support sustainability certification processes as required.

Foundation Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Song Saa Foundation team to understand and champion all conservation, community, and marine programs.
  • Serve as the on-island voice of the Foundation when needed — guiding guests, sharing research outcomes, and advocating for conservation.
  • Support community environmental activities in Prek Svay, including youth education and awareness programs.

External Representation

  • Represent the resort at local government environmental meetings, coastal planning discussions, and industry sustainability forums.
