Role Overview
The Senior Strategist for Clean Energy will play a key role in developing and implementing Tara’s strategy for accelerating clean energy solutions. Reporting to the Deputy Director, Strategy and Insights, the strategist will work with country leads to identify regional opportunities, manage partnerships, and foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders. This position is crucial to driving Tara’s mission to displace polluting fossil fuels and promote renewable energy and energy efficiency in Asia.
The successful candidate will be an experienced strategist, ideally with a deep understanding of clean energy and its enablers in Asia. They should be skilled in developing complex strategies, building partnerships, and working with stakeholders across sectors to drive impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of Tara’s clean energy strategy, focusing on renewable energy and energy efficiency.
- Work with country teams to integrate clean energy priorities into their grantmaking and programmatic work.
- Develop regional sub-strategies on key topics such as renewable energy zones, grids, and energy efficiency.
- Build and manage a strong network of partners across civil society, foundations, governments, and businesses.
- Manage a regional grantmaking budget, providing oversight on grantee activities and ensuring the timely delivery of results.
- Monitor emerging trends in clean energy, advising Tara’s leadership on strategic opportunities and risks.
