Position Summary

To advance Teach For All’s 25-year vision, we are seeking an Academy & Community Designer to help advance the Global Institute’s vision, and to play a key role in shaping the learning experience and community engagement for the Global Institute’s Academy. This role is focused on designing, curating, and enhancing virtual learning offerings, strengthening the learner pipeline, and fostering alumni engagement and community impact.

By strengthening learning design and engagement strategies, we ensure that every Academy participant is meaningfully connected, engaged, and supported to drive long-term impact

The Academy & Community Designer will play a vital role in supporting the Global Institute's mission to be a center of global learning, connection, and collective leadership development. This position will focus on the practical implementation and day-to-day management of the Academy's virtual learning programs. This includes designing engaging learning experiences, managing the registration and selection process for workshops and courses, and fostering a strong community among learners.

About the role

In this role you will work closely with course designers, facilitators, communications, and regional teams, ensuring that the Academy’s offerings are participant-centered, strategically positioned, and continuously improved. Additionally, the role may support efforts related to community impact storytelling, case studies, and knowledge sharing.

This role contributes to the Institute's goal of shaping classrooms, schools, and systems to holistically develop students, particularly those in marginalised communities. The Academy seeks to achieve this by ensuring that all parts of the education system have access to knowledge, skills and resources. To make a sustained shift in their practice and positive impact in the communities they serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • This role reports to the Director of the Academy to support various efforts to:
  • Contribute to the development of strategies to attract a diverse and committed cohort of learners for each Academy offering.
  • Assists in delivering and updating specific workshop offerings based on identified organizational needs, facilitating engagement with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the design and facilitation of high-quality, engaging, and impactful virtual learning experiences.
  • Gathers feedback and tracks participation in post-programme activities to inform learner engagement strategies and support the growth of the alumni network.

Instructional Design (50%)

  • Manage the workflow for registration and selection of participants in workshops, courses, and fellowships, processing applications and communications
  • Manage the workshop open calls, selection, etc. to ensure we have a robust and diverse set of high quality workshops
  • Support workshop and course designers (both full time staff and contractors) to build high quality learning experiences by offering coaching and feedback
  • In collaboration with others, build a robust pipeline of potential learners for the Academy including:
  • Recruitment
  • Brand awareness
  • Collaborate with Teach For All Communications team
  • Coordinate collaborating with regional teams, partners and alumni networks
  • Co-Coordinate orientation calls

Project Coordination (40%)

  • Support Chief Learning Officers and their community impact by the generation of case studies, videos, and other materials and examples
  • Coordinate research and learning efforts related to community impact.
  • Host spaces (e.g., virtual meetings, webinars) related to community impact.
  • Manage the engagement of “alumni” across the Academy offerings — fostering community, sharing content, encouraging deepening of engagement over time

Institute Alignment (10%)

  • Support efforts to ensure the full and sustained alignment across the Global Institute
  • Attendance and contribution to meetings
  • Incorporate and uphold Health & Safety, DEI, and other relevant processes and policies within your responsibilities and professional conduct
  • Participate in relevant Network events.

Profile

Qualifications

  • 7 or more years of experience designing virtual learning offers that are interactive and learner-centered
  • Hold a degree in education or a related field, such as psychology, social work, human development, or any discipline focused on learning, teaching, or community support.
  • Experience with ways of working that center diversity, equity, and inclusiveness, and fosters the leadership of all staff members
  • Strong facilitation skills in a virtual environment—able to co-facilitate discussions, orientation calls, and workshops.
  • Strategic thinking on learner engagement & recruitment—beyond just course design.
  • Ability to build relationships virtually across cultures
  • Ability to priorities and coordinate multiple competing workstreams/priorities with little guidance
  • Strong ability to manage up and across without formal authority
  • Comfort with qualitative research & storytelling (if supporting community impact efforts).
