Empowering enterprises to keep the planet habitable for all!

Reversing the impact of climate change is one of the world’s biggest challenges. And businesses have a responsibility to lead the way. While individual consumer choices are important, over 80% of all the emissions reductions necessary for the world to reach Net-Zero, require business-level action. But despite the growing momentum and ambition from companies around the world to set Net-Zero goals, there are significant challenges to delivering on these ambitions. Business leaders don’t really know how they will get there. And the very first step, of getting emissions measurement right, is hard.

Terrascope is an enterprise-grade, end-to-end decarbonisation SaaS platform. By combining AI-assisted carbon measurement & management with deep industry & sustainability expertise, Terrascope helps solve the data management, emissions reduction planning and implementation challenges that large enterprises face to decarbonise their operations and complex supply chains.

Publicly launched in June '22, Terrascope is working with customers in multiple industry verticals such as agriculture, food & beverage and consumer packaged goods, as well as horizontals such as manufacturing, technology, transportation and real estate. Terrascope is an innovative player to support enterprises in their green transformation.

Backed by Nupo Ventures (formerly Olam Ventures) and incubated with support from BCG X, Terrascope has now achieved a number of globally recognised accreditations, with more on the way – including being the first CDP Gold Accredited Software provider from Asia and signing The Climate Pledge to be net zero by 2040. Terrascope aims to lead by example and demonstrate that business growth and carbon reduction can go hand in hand.

We are looking for a Food & Agriculture Specialist on a mission to scale and democratize climate knowledge, who will take our software offering in the Grown Economy to the next level. The Grown Economy is responsible for over a third of global greenhouse gas emissions and encompasses a wide array of industries from input providers, growers, producers, manufacturers and brands, to distributors, retailers and service providers in food, agriculture, forestry, and other land-related value chains. As a subject matter expert, the F&A Specialist will thrive by sharing their deep sectoral knowledge with Product, Design, and other key teams in Terrascope. This role reports into the Head of Sustainability.

  • Research industries to build out tailored tools and data assets (such as IPCC formulas, performance indicator benchmarking, data regionalisation, decarbonisation strategies, among others)
  • Review corporate and product GHG emissions inventories for quality assurance and quality control, mentoring and coaching team members in the process
  • Develop, deliver, and train teams on submitting Science-Based Targets (near-term, long-term, and SBTi FLAG) Support Business Development teams with pre-sales, executive conversations, proposals, speaking events and webinars
  • Engage with clients and build trusted, long-term relationships Stay up to date on relevant standards and global best practices
  • Help to provide training and capacity building for the wider team on sustainability-related topics

You should have:

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience with an advanced degree in a relevant area (Environmental, Geo- or Climate Sciences, Agronomy, Agri- or Silvicultural or related disciplines)
  • Deep industry-specific knowledge in the Grown Economy, across the Food & Agriculture value chain, from upstream producers, mid-stream processing, and consumer retailing
  • Experience in operational and supply-chain decarbonization planning and implementation

  • Industry-relevant connections and networks
  • A flexible, entrepreneurial problem solver mindset and be comfortable with a fast-paced startup environment; work well under pressure, with fast turnarounds and a can-do mindset
  • Be comfortable working independently and highly collaboratively to drive toward results

Even better if you are:

  • Able to speak multiple languages
  • Have experience working with product carbon footprinting or lifecycle analysis (LCA) experience, including knowledge on ISO14064, PAS 2060 or similar
