Description of the mission

Reporting to Programme Manager (Research)

Job Responsibilities :

  1. Collect, analyse, and summarise quantitative/qualitative data from all Academy programmes to evaluate the impact of provision from the Academy.
  2. Prepare reports from programme evaluation and suggest possible actionable insights and improvement solution.
  3. Select specific Academy programmes for indepth evaluative study with a view to drawing up constructive suggestions for programme planning and development.
  4. Provide comprehensive research assistance and/or collaboration with internal divisions/external parties to compile research papers, statistical reports that could shed light on future development in gifted education.
  5. Update and maintain the administrative database and records with accuracy, efficiency, and integrity.
  6. Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the research team and the division, including organising meetings, managing documentation, and supporting operational tasks.
  7. Chaperone students to cross-border or overseas study tours or competitions.
  8. Perform any other ad-hoc duties and assignments as required.

Terms of Appointment :

The successful candidates will be offered an initial term of two years. Re- appointment will be subject to mutual agreement and good performance. The Academy offers a competitive salary for good candidates. Fringe benefits will be offered according to the job grade of prevailing policy.

Profile

Job Requirements :

  1. Holder of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, or equivalent; a major in statistics, mathematics, psychology, data sciences, or computer sciences is preferred.
  2. At least four years of work experience with two years in research, preferably in an educational environment; a higher research degree (e.g., M.Phil.) is an advantage.
  3. Familiar with latest artificial intelligence technology, such as AI model deployment, prompt and harness engineering, agentic AI, etc., with demonstrated experience in applying AI to educational contexts (e.g., personalised learning analysis, adaptive assessment, learning analytics, or digital pedagogy).
  4. Familiar with digital education technologies (EdTech) and platforms, and an understanding of ethical considerations and data privacy protocols related to AI implementation in educational settings.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), statistical and data analysis software applications (such R, SAS, SPSS), Power BI, programming languages (such as Python and VBA), and database management software (such as MySQL).
  6. Willing to travel occasionally to the mainland and overseas.
  7. Possess excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English (written and spoken); proficient in Putonghua is preferred.
