The Exchange has made strong sustainability commitments as a publicly-listed company and a self-regulatory organization and we would like to have capable sustainability practitioners apply for the position. The PSE is a member of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero through the Net Zero Financial Service Providers Alliance, the third exchange in Asia and the second in ASEAN. Because we are a member of said alliances, we have committed to reducing our carbon footprint (Scopes 1-3) by 54.6% by 2033 from a 2023 baseline. We also fully intend to have these targets certified by the Science-Based Targets Initiative.

The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. is a member of the United Nations Stock Exchanges Initiative and the World Federation of Exchanges (and its Sustainability Working Group) with whom we develop guidance materials for the market. There is increasing demand for material sustainability information from publicly-listed companies and increasing questions over upcoming reporting regulations. There are talks of how green equities frameworks will materialize in the Philippines. We have recently acquired the bond market, putting the fixed income exchange within our purview, and the role of fixed income is more established than green equities.
