The Executive Director at Wedu will spearhead strategic initiatives aligned with the organisation's mission and values. They will represent Wedu externally, fostering partnerships and positioning the organisation as a gender equity thought leader and partner. Managing an annual budget of USD 1 million, they will cultivate funding relationships and oversee financial planning. Ideal candidates will demonstrate visionary leadership, stakeholder management skills, and a deep commitment to gender equity. Wedu welcomes diverse applicants, recognising the value of varied perspectives and experiences. You demonstrate a passion for our mission and a commitment to using your skills to make a positive impact on gender equity. You bring a feminist and systems lens to strategic thinking, embrace feminist leadership, and are attuned to developments on women’s leadership in Asia.

● You are a visionary, versatile, and low-ego leader. You bring at least 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years at a director level, in relevant roles leading high-impact initiatives and organisations, ideally in the Asia regional context.

● You are a skilled and well-networked stakeholder manager with the ability to raise funds, forge relationships, and build trust with diverse audiences. You have a deep understanding of the regional gender equity landscape, and the ability to navigate it. 4

● You are a thoughtful relationship-builder who develops rapport easily and inspires trust. You have a warm, energetic, and authentic personality that translates to fostering lasting relationships with a range of personalities. You communicate and connect across cultural and regional differences, and operate from a place of deep respect for others.

● You are an attuned people manager who leverages individuals’ strengths and promotes teamwork. You build strong teams, coach direct and indirect reports, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability. You ensure that roles are clear, set clear success metrics, and develop others to realise their full potential.

● You are creative, open, and innovative in searching for new solutions, skilled in translating high-level strategy into tangible activities and goals.

● You maintain a high level of discretion, integrity, and executive judgment in difficult and/or complex organisational decisions. You leverage the wisdom of others, along with resources and insights from the field, when making strategic decisions.
