
MAJOR FUNCTIONS
The Communications Officer will support internal and external communications for the 2023–34 Tiger Strategy, helping produce content, maintain organisational systems, and assisting with digital engagement for the WWF Tigers Alive Initiative (TAI).
The role focuses on content creation, digital asset coordination, knowledge management, and day-to-day support to colleagues and consultants. Content produced will support tiger conservation programmes implemented across all WWF Tiger Range Country offices and be used by a wider network of 25+ offices worldwide.
The Communications Officer works with the Director of Development and Communications to:
• Drive advocacy goals
• Support fundraising goals within the WWF network
• Build mass market support for tiger conservation.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Creation (Execution and Coordination)
• Produce and edit impactful shortform video, social media posts, graphics, and visual content (experience with use of Adobe Suite Premier Pro, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop as well as Canva)
• Support the development and maintenance of the tiger conservation editorial calendar, using guidance from the Director and input from WWF offices.
• Draft and edit blogs, internal updates, and online feature stories for use across WWF platforms.
• Support the packaging and distribution of content so it can be easily used by offices across the WWF Network.
• Assist with coordinating external vendors (e.g., designers, translators), including tracking timelines and deliverables.
• Contribute basic layout, infographic, or visual support for reports and presentations.
• Help maintain and update TAI’s digital platforms (website and social media), ensuring content is accurate and timely.
• Manage and update TAI’s content management system, including ensuring proper tagging and compliance with data privacy requirements.
• Assist with gathering stories, information, and assets from WWF offices to develop compelling content for priority audiences.
Communications Monitoring
• Track tiger-related communications trends, opportunities and risks and flag emerging issues to the Director.
• Support social listening needs using tools to help the team understand audience sentiment or
communication risks.
Network Coordination and Knowledge Management
• Support coordination with WWF offices around the world by preparing updates, sharing content
requests, and helping maintain regular communication channels.
• Help prepare materials for Monthly Tiger Communications calls and other network meetings.
• Upload and organise materials in TAI’s knowledge management spaces (including SharePoint, story asset libraries, fact banks, and The Hive).
• Build positive working relationships with communication focal points across WWF offices to facilitate smooth content sharing and collaboration.
