What we do
WWF is working on the ground across the Asia-Pacific region to conserve biodiversity and build a secure and sustainable future for people and wildlife.
WWF’s mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. The vision of the conservation department of WWF Cambodia is “Cambodia’s forests, rivers and wildlife are protected and conserved for all” that contributes to WWF’s 2050 vision of “a sustainable and healthy planet” on which “we live within planetary boundaries”.
WWF Cambodia focuses conservation activities on landscapes of critical biodiversity importance in alignment with the Royal Government of Cambodia’s vision for sustainable development, “By 2050, Cambodia’s biodiversity and its ecosystem services are valued, conserved, restored where necessary, wisely used and managed so as to ensure equitable economic prosperity and improved quality of life for all in the country”.
The goals of conservation department of WWF-Cambodia are: increased habitat protection and connectivity, increase and stable species populations, increased benefits for community members protecting their landscape, and decreased threats of conversion.
WWF Cambodia, through its Mekong Flooded Forest (MFF) Landscape Programme, supports conservation actions in Kratie and Stung Treng provinces to halt the extinction of species, halt the loss and degradation of habitats for these species and the ecosystem services that they provide for people, and develop sustainable livelihoods with a human footprint within the capacity that nature can provide.
