Responsibilities

  • Assist in producing communication materials such as coffee table book, social media, brochures, posters, newsletter, calendars, t-shirts, etc.
  • Assist in the publication of a book under GLUS project, coordinate with vendors, such as external editors, proofreaders, or printing service providers, etc.; and conduct internal proofreading.
  • Provide support in events, exhibitions, or workshops required by projects, programmes or stakeholders.
  • Provide general support required by other programmes during workshops and fieldwork, including photography, registration, logistic arrangements, note-taking, and groundwork with communities, etc., as needed.
  • Internal editing and proofreading to ensure all communication materials are in line with WWF brand and editorial guidelines.
  • Keep the Sarawak team updated on current environmental issues through weekly news monitoring.
Profile

Qualifications

  • Degree in mass communications or journalism.
  • Working experience in journalism or copy writing.

Requirements

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia are required.
  • Able to communicate in other languages commonly used in Sarawak, such as Iban, is an added advantage.
  • Good organizing, coordinating, and people engagement skills.
  • Good knowledge of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and take high initiative for self-monitoring and completing assigned tasks.
  • Willing to travel for fieldwork.
  • Experience in relevant conservation work or related fields is advantageous.
