Key Outputs
- Implementation of the the Marine Programme (Phase 3.5) annual workplan and budget (marine habitat, species and footprint) in ECPM seascape, ensuring timely delivery of key outputs including goals, objectives, planned intermediate results (PIR), budgets, conservation and organisational key performance indicators (KPIs), and technical reports.
- Implementation of Oceans 5 project together with ReefCheck Malaysia.
- Development of essential project documentation, such as concept papers, and advocacy briefs.
- Submission of funding proposals to WWF network donors, private sectors, and international agencies.
- Development of advocacy strategies for marine conservation and strengthened partnerships with state agencies and authorities within the ECPM seascape.
- Establishment and sustained strong professional relationships with WWF team members, communities, and relevant stakeholders.
- Management of field offices and maintaining assets to support operational efficiency and team members safety.
Major Activities
Supervision and Team Management
- Lead and supervise the ECPM seascape team, ensuring effective coordination and team performance.
Project Implementation and Management
- Drive project goals, objectives, and PIRs through strategic planning, programme development, and management in the ECPM seascape.
- Prepare and oversee project technical progress reports of ECPM seascape.
- Develop and submit funding proposals to support ECPM seascape and the marine programme.
- Collaborate closely with the Marine Habitat, Marine Species and Marine Footprint Strategy Managers, Marine Communications Manager, Marine Policy Lead, Marine Spatial Planning Officer, Fisheries Team Leader, Senior Conservation Geographic Information System (CGIS) Officer, and Marine Conservation Officers (MCOs) of the ECPM seascape team.
- Provide regular updates to the Marine Habitat, Marine Species and Marine Footprint Strategy Managers.
Administrator / Office Management
- Oversee field office operations, including asset management, bill payments, cleanliness, and essential functions.
- Serve as the main contact for project site operations and logistics.
Advocacy and Lobbying
- Assist the Marine Policy Lead in advocacy for marine habitat, species and footprint conservation.
- Represent WWF-Malaysia in ECPM seascape-related meetings, workshops, and events.
- Build strong relationships with state agencies managing natural resources and economic planning/development authorities.
Capacity Building and Training:
- Conduct or recommend training to strengthen skills and effectiveness for the ECPM seascape team, the marine programme and partners.
Oceans 5 Project Coordination
- Lead state-level interventions for the Oceans 5 project with ReefCheck Malaysia.
- Together with ReefCheck Malaysia, oversee narrative and financial report submissions, project monitoring, and evaluations with donors and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with the Environmental and Social Safeguard Framework (ESSF) and establish grievance mechanisms.
- Coordinate project activities to meet objectives, outputs, and timelines, adhering to grant conditions.
- Support communications, advocacy, and content creation, including presentations, case studies, and social media.
- Maintain a marine risk register focused on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in ECPM seascape, and monitoring mitigation strategies.
- Organise workshops, training, and courtesy visits to strengthen WWF-Malaysia’s presence in ECPM seascape.
- Track budgets and expenditures, supporting financial and audit report preparation.
- Participate in meetings with donors, project teams, and colleagues for updates and progress monitoring.
- Ensure alignment with project goals during mid-term reviews, donor visits, and evaluations.
Lead implementation of social policies and safeguards within conservation programs, contributing to tools and guidance development.
