➔ Description of the mission

Purpose of Job

  • Grow and maximize WWF-Malaysia’s income through commercial and philanthropic activities, including licensing, promotions, sponsorship, joint product development, staff engagement from major accounts such as those from the corporate sector (Multinational Corporations, Malaysian Conglomerates including the Government Link Corporations [GLC]).
  • Participate in and contribute to the development of strategies and approaches to maintain, protect, improve and grow major account funding & portfolio.
  • Participate and at times require taking lead in prospecting for major accounts including and not limited to prospect research, due diligence, power point presentation and proposal development.
  • Develop retention strategy for assigned major accounts with minimal supervision to ensure contract renewal and continuous financial support from the existing major accounts.
  • Participate and at times require to take lead in the joint communication strategy between major account and WWF which includes brand fit and target audience matrix
  • Initiate Business and industry engagement with designated business sector as part of CSR/Sustainability programme.
  • Find ways to leverage on the major account network and business to create WWF brand awareness.
  • Enhance and maintain the relationships between the governing bodies and WWF-Malaysia through its’ fundraising.
  • Conduct and coordinate activities within the organisation that will generate revenue for WWF-Malaysia.
  • Develop a strong and interactive relationship with companies, organisations, and the public.
  • Participate in major fundraising event/campaigns and at times be required to lead and coordinate those activities.

Key Outputs

  • Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) assigned within the unit as stipulated in the budget
  • Targeted restricted and unrestricted funds for the corporate partnership team delivered in terms of number and value of partnership.

Major Activities

  1. To be responsible for meeting/exceeding annual net income targets for the designated major account cost effectively.

  2. To hold key account responsibilities as follows:

(a) Up keeping of the major accounts database for active engagement and prospecting.

(b) Data entry of information related to major accounts servicing and prospecting.

(c) Exploring new business opportunities with corporations to optimize income.

(d) Familiar with designated business sector’s economic and business operation environment for effective account management.

(e) Represent the donor in the proposal development process, ensuring clear communication of donor expectations and requirements.

(f) Develop and maintain a retention calendar to up keep donor engagement activities.

(g)gIdentify, establish and manage multi-tier relationships across donor and WWF to ensure a long-term business partnership and achievement of corporate goals.

(h) Build and maintain executive relationships within the designated major accounts.

(i) Lead and manage presentations and proposals and all other correspondence with corporate partners/prospective corporate partners/donors.

(j) Keep abreast with progress of projects and to update particular corporate donors on the projects funded by them.

(k) Function as the gatekeeper of the legal agreement contract content between WWF and donor on the sponsored project and to manage all issues related to the contract.

  1. To work with conservation department to identify designated donor’s impact on the environment and/or landscape, and develop a strategy to promote sustainable practices in donor’s business operation as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)/Sustainability initiatives.

  2. To assist in the development of a corporate engagement system to manage and guide prospecting activities for corporate sponsorship, CSR programme and Business & Industry (B&I) engagement.

  3. To prospect for new corporate and foundation donors. Example thru direct mailer campaign.

  4. To coordinate with donor the availability and opportunity for WWF-Malaysia to tap into their channel of distribution for cross marketing activities that will raise funds and also raise WWF-Malaysia brand awareness. To provide leads for Individual Fundraising (IF) and F2F to prospect from major account’s customer/employees base.

  5. To train and supervise Executives in the same field of responsibility.

  6. To assist the Head, Corporate Partnerships as required in meeting nonfinancial objectives of the Department.

  7. To enlist the assistance of appropriate persons / organisation such as the SMT, members of the Board of Trustees, staff within and outside the department, advertising agency appropriately for major accounts prospecting and retention.

  8. To collaborate with the Marketing Unit to publicize and promote the mission, work, and accomplishments of WWF-Malaysia through annual review, campaigning activities and corporate tie up.

  9. To assist and advise the Head, Corporate Partnerships on the problems or possible issues that required to be looked at.

  10. To keep abreast with the portfolio of projects that requires funding by working closely with the Head, Corporate Partnerships.

Specifications

  • A graduate preferably with a degree or masters in Marketing, Business, Social Science or other related subject
  • Minimum working experience of two to four years in the corporate sector.
  • A comprehensive understanding of commercial practices and multinational business environment and GLC is a plu
  • The capacity to conceptualize and implement business development ideas which link conservation programme with business interests
  • Possess a strong sense of project ownership and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills, responsive and an aptitude for precision.
  • Good interpersonal skills, innovative thinking, versatile ability to work in a team and work independently.
  • Good understanding of current issues especially having knowledge on environmental and conservation issues.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and diplomatic skills.
  • Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to relate convincingly and credibly with senior business executives.
  • Superior communication skills in English. Other languages (especially Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese) will be an added advantage.
  • Must have people skills and be able to work as a team.
  • Must be computer literate and have the ability to use appropriate technology for presentation to partners, stakeholders and potential donors.
  • Experience in event management is an added advantage.
