Main Responsibilities / Duties

  1. Assist the Field Research Coordinator in planning, implementing, and documenting research activities within the organization's work areas, including wildlife and biodiversity monitoring using camera traps, passive acoustic monitoring (PAM), and seedling monitoring
  2. Set up, operate, and maintain research equipment in the field
  3. Work closely with the team to collect, organize, and conduct preliminary analysis of research data, helping to interpret findings and identify patterns or trends
  4. Support literature reviews and data analysis for new research initiatives
  5. Ensure strict adherence to ethical standards and research protocols at all stages of research activities, and maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling research data and information
  6. Provide regular updates to the Field Research Coordinator and collaborate closely on planning and executing research tasks
  7. Contribute to other related research topics that may arise, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability

Outputs / Key Deliverables

  1. Organized field data and records (e.g., camera trap, PAM, biodiversity, and seedling monitoring data) maintained in tracking tools or databases
  2. Functional and well-maintained research equipment ready for fieldwork
  3. Comprehensive research reports prepared on a regular basis, summarizing findings and providing recommendations
  4. Documented research plans, protocols, and literature review notes that inform new research initiatives

Selection Criteria

  1. Non-Smoker
  2. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Biology, Forestry, or another relevant field
  3. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply by demonstrating a strong interest in ecological research, especially biomonitoring using camera traps and or bioacoustics.
  4. Research experience in the topic of biodiversity, especially in biomonitoring is preferred
  5. Willing to conduct field visits across all working areas, requiring physical fitness and an ability to work in various environmental conditions
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
  7. Excellent organizational and communication skills
  8. Proficient in data collection and analysis techniques
  9. Proficiency in Google Workspace
  10. Proficiency in English (written or oral) is preferred
  11. Willingness to undertake extensive field visits across all working areas
