We’re Looking for You:

Are you passionate about being a part of group of dedicated employees who are united by our mission to preserve the lands and waters on which all life depends? As an External Affairs Senior Manager, you will lead the efforts in influencing national policies for terrestrial and marine conservation in Indonesia. This role will build strong relationships with government agencies, bilateral and multilateral organizations, and embassies, advance and influence policies related to green financing, impact investment, and environmental fund management. The Senior Manager will also drive strategies to secure public funding from international sources, such as the UK, Norway, and the World Bank, to support YKAN’s mission. We’re looking for an experienced candidate with a background in government relations, policy works, or external affairs, with strong communication skills, a deep understanding of environmental policy and public funding.

The External Affairs Senior Manager reports to the YKAN Executive Director and is based in Jakarta.

Profile

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in political science, environmental policy, business or related field and 6 years of senior management level experience in government relations, corporate sector, or equivalent combination of education/experience.

• Project management experience including coordinating the work of other professionals inside and outside an organization. Demonstrated experience in successfully developing and implementing complex projects in an unstructured environment.

• Supervisory experience.

• Fluency in English oral and written.

• Direct experience working with partners and government agencies.

• Proven experience in strategy development and implementation.

• Demonstrated relationship building skills.

• Experience negotiating complex high profile or sensitive agreements.

• Proven written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
