Job Description

In line with our increasing business, we are looking for Head of Renewable Energy Consulting to have overall responsibility for our renewable energy consulting projects in the Philippines.

Responsibilities

Your scope of work will include the following:

Overall responsibility for renewable energy consulting services in the Philippines, including solar PV/ wind farm/battery storage technical due diligence, feasibility study, EPC tendering and lenders technical advisory services, covering strategy, proposals, project supervision, report templates, quality control and customer satisfaction.
Acting as Project Manager or Project Director (depending on the project) for renewable energy consulting projects in the Philippines.
Recruitment of new renewable energy team members focusing on renewable energy consulting work. Line management of the renewable energy consulting team.
Coordinating resources for renewable energy consulting projects, from among the 50+ AFRY wind power experts and 120+ solar PV experts working in APAC region, and with AFRY’s renewable energy experts in Europe and other regions
Responsibility for training and development of the renewable energy consulting team
Active participation for renewable energy consulting business development and sales
Participation or management of various other technical consulting assignments
Preparation of reports for the clients as required and quality control for the internal report preparation process
Short term travel expected in projects and to support business development in the Asia region.
Occasionally provide support for projects in Europe, Middle East and Latin America.

Rough expectation for the time spent on various duties is the following:

Project management/project supervision/project execution/project quality control (all billable activities): 60-80%

Proposal preparation, client meetings, participation in the sales process: 20-30%

Strategy, resource planning, hiring, mentoring and training of juniors and admin work:

Qualifications

Higher professional degree in engineering field relevant for the job (B.Sc. or higher)
Industry background and more than 10 years’ work experience from power utilities, IPP developers, engineering companies, or power sector consulting companies
Good experience in renewable energy project development phase
Fluency in English
Excellent report writing, presentation and verbal communication skills
Experience in client interaction and capability to meet deadlines
Ability to work well with people from a range of cultures
Ability to work independently
