Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our Group Legal team. This role is pivotal in providing expert legal advice and guidance on a broad spectrum of legal issues and matters, primarily to our Energy and Process Industry divisions but also to Industry Digital Solutions division and Management Consulting in the Asian region. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for supporting our Group Legal team and local management with managing complex legal matters, mitigating risks, and ensuring that our business activities comply with company policies and relevant laws and regulations. Further, you will coordinate compliance matters within the region.

Key Responsibilities:

· Legal Advisory: Provide timely and expert legal advice on complex legal matters, identifying potential risks, and developing strategies to mitigate them.

· Contract Management: Support bid preparations and contract negotiations, review, and draft agreements for consulting and engineering projects ensuring all contracts align with company policies and legal requirements.

· Document Review: Review release and non-reliance letters and reliance letters, ensuring they meet legal standards and protect the company’s interests and align with company policies and legal requirements.

· Legal Documentation: Draft legal memos and opinions, including comprehensive risk assessments, to provide advice for management to make informed business decisions.

· Litigation & Claims Management: Oversee litigation and claims processes, including investigations, legal assessments, client interactions, pleadings, negotiations, and settlements. Monitor claims and liaise closely with the insurance company to manage developments. Support the local

management and project managers in proactively managing and mitigating the contractual and claim risks that may come up in project execution.

· External Relations: Manage relationships with external parties, including law firms, to ensure effective legal representation and advice.

· Corporate legal matters: Manage the corporate legal matters and record-keeping

· Training: Conduct legal training for internal stakeholders such as management, project managers and proposal managers, develop templates, FAQs, and guidelines, and provide ongoing support to ensure compliance with legal standards and company policies.

· Compliance: have a coordinating role for compliance matters within the region

Qualifications

· Law degree from a recognized institution.

· 7 years of experience in a senior legal role, preferably within the Energy sector

· Strong expertise in contract law

· Proven ability to manage complex legal matters and provide strategic legal advice.

· Experience working with or in the Asian region is a strong advantage.

· Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
