They will co-lead the programme’s development and delivery with the Clean Air Fund’s City Lead in Bangkok, ensuring alignment across all pillars, and will lead the C40-managed work within the programme. They will convene and coordinate relevant city staff, funders, regional teams to identify key activities, C40 and external resources needed to deliver toward the city's policy goals, report and track progress, and ensure that the city administration has oversight of the programme's technical outputs and is updated regularly. They will also lead activities and events involving the Governor and his executive team. The City Advisor will be the main connection between the city government and the Breathe Cities program and network of funders and partners delivering air quality activities in the city.

  • Monitor the city's political priorities and needs for implementing air quality action, and work with Breathe Cities and city staff to adapt the programme's support accordingly.
  • Convene and coordinate the city government project team (including city staff, C40 Technical Teams, and Breathe Cities partners) to collaboratively work on delivery of the city government elements of Breathe Cities.
  • Work with BMA to deliver phase 2 work plan through project committees and working groups, revising and adapting work plans accordingly when emerging needs are identified.
  • Lead delivery of the C40-managed policy and technical assistance and knowledge sharing activities, including oversight of consultants, and serve as a connector between consultants and the city working group.
  • Ensure the city administration has oversight of and comments on the programme's technical outputs, and that relevant city stakeholders are updated regularly on progress.
  • Facilitate in-city meetings, workshops, and discussions and create materials (e.g. reports, presentations, summaries etc.) that can be used to support and track decision making for, development, and rollout of key policy and program milestones.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of activities and events involving the Governor and his executive team, and produce, as needed, briefings, presentations, talking points, communications/media collaterals or other materials for senior officials in relation to Breathe Cities, air quality and climate change matters.
  • Inform and update the Breathe Cities team on the city's priorities, political dynamics and needs to break barriers for action implementation as well as opportunities for funding air quality and climate action.
  • Engage agencies, NGOs and development agencies working on air quality in Thailand, so that the programme contributes to broader national and regional efforts.
  • Connect Breathe Cities with related C40 work in Bangkok where it supports the programme’s goals.
