➔ Description of the mission

Position SummaryThe Development team plays a central and essential role in ensuring CCF’s financial sustainability by generating revenues from philanthropic individuals, corporates, organizations, trusts and foundations.

Reporting to the Development Director in Phnom Penh, the Development Officer will assist with existing fundraising efforts, and work closely with the Office of the Executive Director and the International Offices in the management of existing and prospective donors and sponsors.

This role supports fundraising activities by ensuring relationships with supporters are respected and nurtured through high quality engagement initiatives, delivered both at-scale and bespoke. By supporting global development activity and the strengthening of meaningful relationships with all CCF supporters, the Development Officer will contribute to building a community of passionate and engaged people who continue to give to CCF and increase their giving over time.

Success in the position requires strong attention to detail and organizational skills. The candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage information, relationships, and activities within competing deadlines across multiple teams and cultures.

She/he will help more broadly to integrate and coordinate high quality supporter activities, which serve to appropriately recognize and acknowledge contributions, while strengthening engagement. Such activities will include, but are not limited to, the coordination of events, multi-channel and multi-stakeholder communications, and direct supporter engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning and execution
  • Contribute to the development of the fundraising strategic planning and target setting to ensure the needs of the programs and organizational priorities;
  • Co-ownership of the fundraising strategy and contribute to the implementation of the strategy in accordance with the plan, necessary adjustment, and target
  • Supporter Relationship Management
  • Use information about donor interests to design, implement, and oversee an editorial calendar of individual, foundation, and mass donor communications that integrates with CCF’s programs and events schedule and in partnership with grant team for grants proposal calendar;
  • Own and manage donor cultivation and recognition calendar, leveraging CCF program events and Executive activities to ensure that donors are experiencing deeper engagement with the mission; coordinate and engage the visit of major donors and provide necessary briefing and tipping points after the visit to the concerned Relation-Managed of fundraising offices.
  • Support the Development Managers and Executives in cultivation, direct solicitation, and stewardship of new major gifts, high-net-worth individuals, and prospects working to ensure that each major donor and prospect has a clear strategy and timeline for cultivation solicitation and stewardship;
  • Leverage the knowledge capital and talents of our board members, volunteers and donors, develop activities that better connect our staff, coaches, and clients to interested philanthropic partners;
  • Serve as contact point for a portfolio of donors and prospects, helping to develop and implement cultivation strategies and maintain records (using Salesforce) of all interactions;
  • Manage assigned relationships with great thought and care to increase engagement and revenue;
  • Work closely with senior leadership to understand and articulate the case for each of CCF’s programing alignment with specific individual donor, corporation and foundation interests;
  • Record donor touchpoints, interactions, and updates in the Salesforce database.
  • Collate, update, and manage collateral and information for international offices and relationship managers to use for fundraising activities and donor communications in collaboration with the Marketing team.
  • Work closely with the Executive Office and Executive Director to ensure the Fundraising team is kept updated on developments and communications between the Executive Office and individual donors, supporters, and partners.
  • Keep international office staff updated on activities, holidays, success stories, and events in Phnom Penh, acting as key contact between international offices and Phnom Penh office.
  • Regularly meet with the Development Director and/or Executive Director to discuss weekly donation reports, and action thank you and follow ups on behalf of the Executive Director, feeding back to relevant Relationship Managers.
  • Oversee the income streams of international matching campaigns, keeping fundraising staff up to date on where additional funding is needed, as well as contributing to final reports.
  • Partnerships
  • Act as the main contact point for international partners looking to engage in a partnership that involves on the ground activities in Cambodia.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage, with input from the Cambodian Fundraising team and Programs teams, partnership activities that provide experiences and activities for CCF students, families, staff, and more.
  • Cultivate international partners with activities on the ground to renew their giving, and engage further with CCF.
  • Assist Cambodian Fundraising team with local partnership events and activities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Skills & Knowledge:

General & Technical Skills

  • An established relationship manager, preferably with 2-4 years of relevant non-profit fundraising and/or communications experience;
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing abilities; have a customer service approach to communications with donors and other VIPs;
  • Ability to develop and enhance strong communications standards and workflows while working with Communications to disseminate donor-focused content across multiple mediums, including social media, newsletters, and more;
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment and in an international setting is beneficial.

Soft Skills

  • Well-developed organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities;
  • A strong work ethic, ability to maintain and model high personal, ethical, and professional standards, as well as an outgoing and positive personality with creativity, patience, a sense of humor, and perspective;
  • A passion and commitment for the mission of CCF and have a clear understanding and appreciation for poverty alleviation, education for underserved population, gender, and or economic development;
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills, with proven success tailoring messages to a variety of audiences, particularly in articulating organizational alignment with donor interests;
  • Independent thinking with openness and excitement for new ideas; passion for a collegial team environment and working with multiple colleagues on different projects at the same time;
  • An entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in a changing, fast-paced, high performing organization;
