Conservation International Philippines (CIP) is part of a consortium for a five-year project in the Philippines that seeks to improve resilience by strengthening the adaptive capacities of cities to adapt to and manage the impacts of climate change. It will result in enhanced stakeholders’ knowledge on climate information for planning and decision-making; improved capacity to access and manage climate finance, and broadened adaptation and mitigation interventions to expand reach and impact.
The Zamboanga Program Coordinator is responsible for harmonizing the project implementation of natural climate solutions (NCS) in Zamboanga, with all technical, administrative, and financial management deliverables pertaining to the project implementation in this area.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the NCS Specialist, provide administrative, research, and project support for NCS deliverables in Zamboanga. Establish and maintain administrative, workflow, and program/project monitoring systems. Perform research and analyze and summarize key findings. Act as liaison with staff and partners. Support program learning events including managing communications, travel logistics, venue oversight, travel reimbursements, and related event expenses. Develop program communications including drafting memos, presentations, maintaining relevant websites, and related communication efforts. Provide administrative support to key staff and manage travel arrangements and the department calendar. Organize conference calls and team/committee meetings; manage agendas, logistics, minutes, and reporting.
Project Implementation:
- Provide logistics and administrative support including preparation of purchase requests, vehicle requests, cash advances, and liquidation reports.
- Embodies donor and CI core values, theory of change, accountability, high performance, creativity, and innovation.
Networking and Partnership:
- Plan, organize, mobilize and facilitate NCS activities in the communities of Zamboanga.
- Conduct social preparation and initiate partnerships with the communities, local government units, and local service providers in the project areas.
- Set regular coordination meetings with the communities and local authorities to mobilize resources and ensure active participation of stakeholders.
- Maintain a directory of government and non-governmental organizations, academe, business, and employers who can help strengthen NCS programs in partner communities.
- Actively participate in network and partnership meetings, learnings, and sharing opportunities.
Capacity Building:
- Consult with partners in the identification of training needs.
- Conduct capacity-building activities to program partners and target communities.
- Facilitate organization development of community groups for program delivery and sustainability.
- Develop a community mobilization plan for Zamboanga.
