Profile

ERM Malaysia is seeking an exceptional individual to join as a Senior/Managing Consultant with some consultancy and project management experience in sustainability services to support the expanding business in Malaysia and more broadly in Southeast Asia. This role offers a unique opportunity to be involved in innovative and exciting projects that ERM is currently working on.

ROLE PROFILE:

  • Play an integral role in delivering consulting services to client companies. Areas of project focus will include: Sustainability strategy and program development and implementation, and sustainability reporting.
  • Have significant responsibility for managing key accounts and large-scale Sustainability program, developing sustainability communications for key stakeholders, identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Fulfil certain internal management responsibilities of ERM including: planning and budgeting, training and professional development of the sustainability consultants, and interfacing with other practice areas and project teams within ERM.
  • The candidate should have experience in developing direct reports, business and client skills.
  • Consulting experience and/or proven ability to perform the key functions of a consultant, including: developing and maintaining client relationships; pursuing and creating business opportunities; and managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines with little oversight.
  • Build on client relationships and internal networks, conduct marketing activities, and project sales.
  • Where appropriate work with the other service teams on opportunities, proposals, projects and other marketing/business activities across the team, the company and broadly ERM global business.
  • Acting as a role model and mentor to new joiners and junior consultants

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; Master's degree preferred (environmental engineering, economic, industrial engineering, public policy, environmental science, business administration).
  • At least 6-8 year experience in Sustainability related topics with deep environmental expertise and climate change.
  • Strong writer and ability to translate complex issues into concise, relevant stories.
  • Strong analytical, logic, problem solver and systematic thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are desired, along with facilitation skills.
  • Strong and demonstrable project management experience with a skill set in relevant project management tools.
  • Good knowledge in sustainability guidelines such as GRI, FTSE4Good, Bursa requirement and ISO26000/14000 would be an advantage.
  • Proficiency with MS office suite; ability to learn others as required.
  • Have good inter-personal skills, engagement skills and ability to facilitate participation from others.
  • Can-do attitude and enthusiasm are necessary as is strict attention to details, organization, and the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Willingness to undertake business travel.
  • Local candidates preferred.
