IESR is looking for a Sustainable Mobility and Transport Analyst. The person in this position will be part of the IESR’s analyst team and will contribute to the evidence-building and advocacy process of IESR in the transport sector decarbonization. IESR is keen to do breakthrough research beyond what the existing conditions to find new and innovative ways for lowering carbon emission from the transport sector. The analyst could also participate in IESR key advocacy process including but not limited to emission mitigation strategies for NDC, implementing ASI framework, institutional convening, and clean technology supply chain issue.

The responsibilities of the Sustainable Mobility Analyst shall include, but not limited to, the following:

  1. Collect, compile, and build database on transport sector in Indonesia as basis and support for the research reports [20%]
  2. Conduct research as prioritized by internal organization strategies for advocacy. The task includes brainstorm and strategize the key research questions in accordance with the most recent context, prepare research methodology, outline the research paper, gather primary and secondary data, write research report, or translate the key findings into other products as deem necessary, as well as communicate the results to the relevant stakeholders [50%]
  3. Support or run a transport sector related modelling (e.g. PTV Vissim, Openpath) or assist in overall modelling activities (LEAP, system dynamic) for supporting the ongoing research or advocacy [15%]
  4. Contribution to other work streams related to the transport sector as deem necessary [15%]
Profile
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in the field of mobility, sustainable energy, transport planning & economics, civil engineering, urban sustainability or related fields to sustainable mobility issue from reputable universities
  • Basic understanding of transport sector issues, climate mitigation, and environmental issues. Deep knowledge of the transport sector situation in Indonesia is very valuable.
  • Experience in the transport sector modelling is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and oral knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia and English, including the ability to write a report/technical/briefing/policy paper;
  • Ability to work in an intercultural environment.
  • Willingness and adaptability for new and relevant knowledge in power systems.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
