  1. Design and Development:
  • Lead the design and development of solar PV systems, including layouts, electrical designs, mounting systems, and energy yield analysis.
  • Create electrical designs, schematics, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
  • Prepare Single-Line Diagrams (SLD), wiring schematics, and system specifications.
  • Apply electrical engineering principles to create efficient, cost-effective solutions and review technical specifications, drawings, and prototypes.
  1. Project Management:
  • Lead projects from concept to completion, ensuring strategic planning, execution, and monitoring for successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teams, subcontractors, consultants, and partners to ensure project alignment, scope, on-time delivery, and budget compliance.
  • Optimize projects to reduce costs, drive value engineering, and meet financial and corporate goals.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, including design, execution, delivery, testing, and commissioning.
  • Manage team reporting and track project progress and performance.
  • Prepare milestone claims for key project stages, ensuring timely verification and payment.
  • Oversee project handover to O&M and Sales teams, ensuring complete documentation and final reports.
  1. Testing and Analysis:
  • Conduct tests and evaluations of electrical systems to ensure they meet design specifications and safety standards.
  • Analyze test data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform shading analysis and energy yield forecasts using tools like PVsyst and Helioscope, troubleshooting and resolving any electrical issues as needed.
  1. Compliance and Standards:
  • Ensure all electrical designs and systems comply with national and international codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain awareness of new technologies, trends, and best practices in electrical and solar engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with local grid interconnection requirements, utility regulations, and safety standards.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and project updates.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation such as as-built drawings, technical reports, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders, senior management, and clients.
  1. Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with clients, vendors, regulatory bodies (ST, SEDA), TNB, contractors, and team members to gather requirements, ensure compliance, and provide technical support.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including during project proposals and client meetings.
  • Provide technical support during proposal preparation and project cycles, including addressing customer queries and offering expert guidance.
Profile

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Renewable Energy, preferably in the solar energy sector.
  • Proven experience in project planning, design, and execution.
  • Required language: Bahasa Malaysia, English or Mandarin.
  • Required skills: Auto-CAD, M&E design knowledge, Microsoft Office suits, and driving license.
  • Required travelling to project site / based on project site.
  • Willing to relocate if assigned for project site in Sabah.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and safety regulations.
