KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage oversight and/or implementation of project design, planning and scheduling; resource budgeting and management, design, evaluation, and monitoring of project performance objectives.
  • Preparation, review, analysis and interpretation of financial statements and reports (i.e., financial accounting), and financial forecasts, plans, budgets and reports (i.e. managerial accounting)
  • Business resource planning and budgeting, including translation of operational strategies and objectives into financial plans and budgets.
  • Analysis and evaluation of investment and capital budgeting decisions
  • Development, evaluation and interpretation of ad hoc financial and economic analyses, models, and decision tools.
  • Provision of business development, management consulting, and/or technical advisory services in maritime sector industries and forestry
  • Preparation and negotiation of investment term sheets
  • Preparation of investment memoranda, and coordination and management of due diligence, contracting and disbursement requirements and processes
Profile

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A master’s degree in sustainable finance, forestry, and natural resource management-related science.
  • Minimum 7 years of full-time work experience in a relevant field
  • Proven knowledge or experience in climate-related issues including carbon crediting transactions (origination, voluntary carbon market standards, and implementation), terrestrial and/or blue carbon.
  • Demonstrated NCS carbon crediting knowledge and experience, including voluntary carbon markets, and use of carbon standards such as Verra VCS, Climate Community & Biodiversity Standards, Climate Action Reserve, ART TREES, Gold Standard, etc.
  • Experience in economic valuation study for terrestrial and marine ecosystems.
  • Experience in establishing the BLUD and designing institutional training for sustainability.
  • Experience managing complex projects. Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent in reporting, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated team player.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to build on existing knowledge to develop new approaches.
  • Demonstrated track record of working effectively and collaboratively with multicultural, international, multidisciplinary teams to produce concrete results, including strong capacity to navigate diversity, equity, and inclusion.
