The role

You will help us sign up and onboard food businesses onto the platform. That means finding suitable merchants, approaching them, explaining how it works, and walking them through getting set up and listing their first Surprise Bag.

You will work directly with the founder. There is no layer of management between you and the decisions, and you will see the direct result of your work in the number of merchants live on the app.

What you will do

Identify cafes, bakeries, restaurants, grocers and other food businesses worth approaching
Reach out and pitch, in person and over phone or messaging
Handle questions and objections from business owners
Onboard new merchants and guide them through listing their first bag
Check in with new merchants in their early days so they stay active
Keep clear records of leads, conversations and outcomes
Feed back what you learn on the ground so we can improve the pitch

Profile

What we are looking for

Currently studying at a university or polytechnic in Singapore
Persistent and self directed, since much of this is field work rather than desk work
Able to explain something new in simple, clear terms
Organised enough to keep track of sales work
Interest in startups, food or sustainability

No prior sales experience needed. Attitude and willingness to put yourself out there matter more than a CV.

Languages

If you're studying in a uni or poly your english proficiency is good enough. It is a strong plus if you also speak any of the following, since many merchants are more comfortable in these: Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, Hokkien, Teochew or Cantonese.
