Key Responsibilities

As Program Manager, you will:

  • Provide a strategic vision for innovative program development and implementation, with a focus on youth and democracy in key countries in Southeast Asia.
  • Deliver on day-to-day liaison with grantees and partners in the design, launch, implementation, and exit of the program/portfolio(s).
  • Work collaboratively in developing, assessing, and revising program strategies.
  • Effectively manage portfolios of work, including support in the grant-making process by communicating with grantees for proposal submission, assisting in grant record preparation, grants processing, reporting, and other related processes.
  • Build a strong understanding of the field and partnerships, in developing and designing the program strategies and portfolios of work.
  • Work collaboratively with other members within the team and with colleagues across OSF to advance OSF’s strategic objectives, utilizing a variety of OSF’s strategic capabilities..
  • Manage relationships with partners and work with them to achieve OSF’s strategic objectives.
  • Build and maintain networks of stakeholders and effectively promote strategic cooperation with diverse audiences.
  • Process and oversee progress of consultant contracts.
  • Monitor and communicate progress implementation, project risks, and other relevant status updates regularly.
  • Monitor and analyse political and socioeconomic developments in countries and areas of focus of the program/portfolio, and deliver concise, written reports and presentations for diverse groups including peers, OSF leadership, and external audiences.

Qualifications

  • Educated to a degree-level (or equivalent).

Essential:

Experience

  • Multiple years’ experience in, and nuanced understanding of, at least one field related to politics, governance, public policy, human rights, or socioeconomic development in Southeast Asia.
  • Progressively responsible experience in a leading role at an NGO, government agency, or research institution focused on politics, governance, public policy, human rights, or socioeconomic development in Southeast Asia.
  • Extensive expertise in areas related to at least one of the following areas: youth movements, youth engagement and organizing, political leadership development, public policy, or democratic governance.
  • Fluent in a Southeast Asian language, preferably Thai.

  • Ability to build synergies, strengthen movements, and identify and fill capacity gaps across fields.

Languages:

  • An excellent knowledge of English (or other language) and proficiency of a Southeast Asian language, preferably Thai.
  • Proficiency in additional Southeast Asian language would be an asset.
