S&P Global has a target to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. We also have strong human rights and supplier diversity goals. The majority of emissions and so much of our responsibility is in our supply base. This is an exciting opportunity for the right sustainability and/or procurement professional to help S&P Global transform its purchasing mode from Procurement to Sustainable Procurement.

The Sustainable Procurement Program Specialist will join the Responsible Procurement Team within the greater Global Sourcing & Procurement organization with team members based in the US, UK, India, Philippines, and Malaysia.

The Sustainable Procurement Program Specialist will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing sustainable procurement strategies within our organization. Your focus will be on integrating environmental and social considerations into our procurement practices alongside economic and quality factors.

Here Are The Key Responsibilities

  • Develop sustainable procurement policies, SOPs and strategies to meet S&P Global’s goals and embed sustainability practices into procurement
  • Collaborate with CSR, Business Units and greater Sourcing & Procurement organization to develop strategy
  • Collect, analyze, and present greenhouse gas emissions and human rights data and environmental metrics.
  • Develop and execute vendor engagement strategy reduce GHG emission and human rights risk among S&P suppliers
  • Monitor supplier progress against sustainability requirements, prepare regular reports and present findings to suppliers, senior management and other stakeholders
  • Identify reporting tools and embed sustainability data into greater procurement reporting ecosystem
  • Develop training for Souring & Procurement team and business partners
Profile

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in developing and implementing environmental and human rights initiatives within a procurement organization.
  • Experience in and knowledge of sourcing, procurement and vendor management processes, procedures and challenges
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and standards for carbon accounting, such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, the GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Accounting and Reporting Standard, and ISO 14064.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and standards for human rights, such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights
  • Technical expertise in scope 3 emissions Category 1 - Purchased Goods and Services, with track record of accurately calculating, reporting, and managing Scope 3 emissions.
  • Familiarity with carbon accounting tools, vendor engagement products, and suppy chain human rights software
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of carbon accounting principles, including greenhouse gases, decarbonization strategies, and carbon offsetting mechanisms.
  • Must be fluent English language speaker. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.Solid data management and data analytics skills
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and generate solutions.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with competing timelines.
  • Work effectively both independently and in a team.
  • Must have experiencing using e-Sourcing tools (e.g. Ariba, Workday Sourcing, Coupa, Ivalua etc.)
  • Flexible to work in flexible schedule covering mid-shift coverage.
