The Events & Communications Manager is a pivotal role dedicated to scaling Splash Foundation’s impact. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead our flagship fundraising events and spearhead our marketing efforts to strengthen the Splash brand both in Hong Kong and internationally. You are the bridge between our life-changing learn-to-swim programs and the community that supports them.
Key Responsibilities
1.Event Planning & Execution
- Project Coordination: Create and manage the master plan for key events: Make Waves for Hong Kong, Splash Dash Relay, and Blue January. This includes tracking deadlines, setting up weekly internal meetings, and keeping everyone on schedule.
- On-the-Ground Logistics: Be the lead for all event operations. You’ll handle the practicalities: securing permits, booking venues, organizing transport, and managing equipment inventory.
- Fundraising Support: Set up and monitor event pages on donation platforms. Create the toolkits and how-to guides that help people reach their fundraising target.
- Vendor & People Management: Act as the primary point of contact for a diverse ecosystem of stakeholders, including participants, corporate sponsors, volunteers and external vendors (photographers, videographers, and translators).
2. Content & Communications
- Asset Creation: You will be the primary producer of event collateral. This means drafting sponsorship decks, designing event signage, writing press releases, and creating social media posts.
- Social Media Management: Keep our Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn channels active and engaging. You’ll be responsible for scheduling posts, responding to comments, and tracking what content works best.
- Website: Perform regular housekeeping on the website updating impact stats and photos.
- Publications: Gather content and manage production of quarterly newsletters and the Annual Report.
- Brand Guardianship: Act as the editor-in-chief to make sure all Splash materials—from a volunteer flyer to a corporate deck—look and sound like Splash.
3. Programme Marketing & Partnerships
- Storytelling: Work with the Programmes team to find the story. You’ll interview beneficiaries and volunteers to create compelling content that shows our impact.
- Programme & Volunteer Comms: Create clear, helpful programme information, training materials and updates for our learn to swim programmes and network of 150+ volunteers and coaches.
- Pool Partner Outreach: Help us grow our Good Pool Partner network by researching and pitching to new pool leads and ensuring current partners feel recognized and valued.
