Drone Engineer is responsible for supporting end-to-end drone operations, including research, data analysis, pilot training, and technical troubleshooting. This role ensures the reliability and performance of drone systems through maintenance, repair, and compliance with operational standards. The position also involves customer engagement through trials, as well as administrative responsibilities such as reporting, auditing, and claims handling.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing flight log drone (DJI, XAG, Mission Planner, QGroundControl) for incident analysis and technical troubleshooting
  • Communicating and coordinating with drone manufacturers/vendors (aftersales, technical support, and problem escalation)
  • Handling Claims Administrator duties (warranty claims/RMA, unit history, and incident documentation)
  • Assembling, custom building, and integrating drone hardware systems
  • Remote troubleshooting with pilot in the field
  • Perform hardware maintenance, repair electronics (soldering, internal/external battery, components), and report documentation
  • Conducting trials and demo units with customers on site (as needed)
  • Training customers and pilots on site or HO (as needed)
  • Advanced on-site troubleshooting for critical technical issues (as needed)
  • Monitor SOP for engineering team
  • Make a work report and technical maintenance guides

Profile

Specific Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Min 1-2 years experience in drone engineering, technical support, or flight data analysis
  • Experienced with custom drones, DJI Agriculture drones, and XAG drones
  • Experience in using flight control and log analysis software such as QGroundControl, Mission Planner, etc.
  • Skills in soldering and assembling electronic component
  • Drone pilot certification from a recognized aviation authority
  • Be able to read, speak, write, and understand English fluently (essential for manufacturer communication)
  • Good communication and presentation skills (client-facing for customer training and demos)
  • Critical thinking, data analytics, and problem-solving skills
  • Time management and project management skills
  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly about new drone technologies
  • Willing to travel for occasional site visits (for customer demo, training, and heav troubleshooting)
