The Policy and Partnerships Manager support The Nature Conservancy’s conservation goals by strengthening our partnerships with government, multilateral institutions/ agencies, non-government organizations and/or business. They support the identification and cultivation of partners in order to either help direct funding flows to TNC, TNC priorities, and/or to influence policy in ways that accelerate TNC’s strategic objectives. This may involve the development of partner engagement strategies and associated content including funding proposals, presentations, and project summaries.
The Policy and Partnerships Manager also build and facilitate internal networks, representing TNC’s Asia Pacific region in globally led initiatives focused on enhancing, sustainably financing and tracking TNC’s policy and partnership efforts, as well as communicating progress on the Asia Pacific Policy and Public Sector Partnerships strategy. They also work closely with representatives from TNC’s country programs across Asia Pacific to secure support for their work and help identify policy and partnership opportunities. They will be responsible for coordinating meetings and developing agendas and other materials as needed in order to support the delivery of the Asia Pacific Policy and Public Sector Partnerships strategy
Responsibilities & Scope
- Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with government officials, NGO partners and/or donors to influence public policy in support of TNC objectives
- Collaborate with TNC colleagues in other teams across the region and globally on various policy, sustainable finance and partnership initiatives and opportunities
- Ensures program compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
- Financial responsibility may include working within/managing a budget to complete projects, negotiating and contracting with vendors, assisting with budget development, and meeting fundraising targets.
- Serve as a team leader for assigned projects and coordinate the work of others.
- Ensures that the program complies with relevant lobbying laws and regulations.
- May need to gain cooperation from individuals or groups (inside and outside the Conservancy) over whom there is no direct authority in order to accomplish program goals.
- May supervise administrative staff and/or volunteers, interns, or temporary staff
