Associate, Portfolio Operations & ESG

We're hiring a sharp, detail-oriented Associate to join our growing operations team. This role sits at the intersection of portfolio monitoring, ESG & impact management, and compliance — giving you a front-row seat to the full lifecycle of a venture-backed portfolio.

You'll work directly with our investment and operations professionals to produce the data, reporting, and governance infrastructure that keeps our fund running smoothly and our LPs well-informed. It's a high-ownership role suited to someone analytically rigorous, proactive, and genuinely excited about both sustainability and the startup ecosystem.

What you'll do

Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting

Collect, verify, and consolidate financial and operational data from portfolio companies on a regular cadence
Support preparation of quarterly and annual portfolio performance reports, valuation updates, and internal dashboards
Track key portfolio metrics including burn rate, revenue growth, valuation, and KPIs agreed with founders
Maintain portfolio databases and monitoring tools to ensure data integrity and consistency
Deliver ad hoc analyses, benchmarking, and reporting for the investment team and LPs

ESG & Impact Management

Collect and validate ESG and impact data from portfolio companies in line with our sustainability framework
Support implementation and continuous improvement of ESG monitoring processes and tooling
Contribute to semi-annual ESG and impact reporting materials for LPs and external stakeholders
Research ESG best practices, sustainability trends, and impact measurement methodologies relevant to early-stage companies
Help develop and refine portfolio-level ESG scoring, metrics, and engagement playbooks

Operations & Compliance

Maintain internal records, documentation, and trackers in line with fund governance requirements
Prepare documentation for audits, investor reporting, and regulatory submissions
Monitor adherence to internal governance policies, fund procedures, and investment restrictions
Coordinate with external service providers — fund administrators, auditors, and legal counsel
Identify and support process improvement initiatives across operations and reporting

Investor Relations

Assist in responding to LP queries, data requests, and due diligence questionnaires

Profile

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Sustainability, or a related field
0–3 years of relevant experience in VC, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or ESG/impact research (internships count)
Exposure to startup financials, fund operations, or LP reporting is a plus
Additional coursework or certification in ESG, impact investing, or data analytics is a bonus

Skills

Strong analytical and quantitative skills; comfortable working with financial data
Understanding of financial statements, startup metrics (burn rate, valuation multiples), and portfolio monitoring concepts
Familiarity with ESG and compliance frameworks and sustainability reporting practices
Excellent written and verbal communication, with rigorous attention to detail
Organised, proactive, and able to juggle multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
Genuine intellectual curiosity about venture capital, startups, and sustainability
