WPPI has an opportunity for a talented Group HR Manager to join our company and lead the group’s human resources policies and practices across six companies operating in the Philippines, Indonesia and Singapore. This professional is expected to bring in high integrity, sound judgement, resilience, cultural sensitivity, confidentiality, commercial awareness, and a genuine commitment to people development. The candidate should be comfortable working in a growing organisation where systems are still evolving and where practical problem-solving is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment

  • Maximize the reach and visibility of job vacancies through strategic use of social media, the company website, and relevant industry networks;
  • Conduct initial screening and shortlist the top most qualified candidates for further evaluation;
  • Develop structured interview guides and coordinate interview logistics, including panel selection, scheduling, and assessment criteria;
  • Draft and refine employment contracts to align with company policies and legal requirements;
  • Establish clear, measurable criteria for assessing new employees’ performance during their probationary period.
  • Oversee and continuously update the existing recruitment process.

Training & Development

  • Organise comprehensive onboarding programs, including relevant training, team introductions, and orientation sessions covering company policies, culture, and HR regulations;
  • Develop and implement comprehensive employee development and engagement strategies to enhance retention, career progression, motivation, and overall job satisfaction.
  • Design support mechanisms to promote employee physical health and well-being, including regular check-ins and assistance initiatives.

Performance Evaluations

  • Continuously update and refine the Scorecard/OKR system to align with organizational objectives;
  • Initiate and supervise annual performance evaluations;
  • Process aggregated score matrix and report to the CEO;
  • Assist in identifying high-potential employees and individuals requiring performance improvement plans.

General – HR Strategy & Compliance

  • Monitor employment contract, key compliance dates, and employee benefits administration;
  • Provide expert guidance on best practices and emerging trends in HR, organizational culture, productivity enhancement, and risk/liability mitigation;
  • Oversee job descriptions, compensation structures, and benefits to ensure market competitiveness (through frequent salary reports published by HR companies) and internal equity;
  • Support department heads on HR-related matters, ensuring alignment with company policies and labour regulations;
  • Regularly review and update HR manuals to maintain compliance with local labour laws and industry standards;
  • Manage Health and/or Life and Travel insurances of employees and work with accounting department on renewing/buying policies.

Location

The position is located at the WEnergy Power Pilipinas Inc., Discovery Center, Unit 3004, 25 ADB Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City, 1600 Metro Manila, the Philippines. Domestic travelling may be required.

Profile

Competences & Capabilities

The candidate would possess the following capabilities and qualifications:

  • HR Leadership and Business Partnering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial Relations, or a related field, with preferably 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience advising senior management. The candidate should be able to act as a trusted HR partner to the CEO and department heads on workforce planning, organisational structure, employee engagement, retention, and culture-building.
  • Recruitment, Talent Development and Performance Management
  • Strong hands-on experience managing end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, employee development, training needs, probation reviews, annual performance evaluations, OKRs or scorecards, and performance improvement plans. The candidate should be able to attract suitable talent while supporting employee growth and accountability.
  • HR Compliance, Compensation and Employee Relations
  • Solid working knowledge of labour regulations in the Philippines, Singapore and Indonesia, employment contracts, statutory benefits, HR documentation, employee relations, disciplinary procedures, and HR policy implementation in a multi-cultural organisation. Experience with compensation benchmarking, benefits administration, insurance renewals, and exposure to regional HR practices in countries of operation would be an advantage.
  • Communication, Stakeholder Management and Cultural Awareness
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Tagalog, with Bahasa Indonesia considered a strong advantage. The candidate should be comfortable engaging with employees, managers, external advisers, government agencies, insurers, recruiters, and regional stakeholders with professionalism, discretion, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Execution, Digital Capability and Personal Integrity
  • A self-motivated, hands-on HR professional with strong initiative, sound judgement, confidentiality, and attention to detail. The candidate should be proficient in office productivity tools, HR systems, recruitment platforms, and the responsible use of AI to improve HR processes while protecting sensitive employee and company information.
