Job Title: Regional Regenerative Agriculture Team Members (Sabah, Malaysia)

We are looking for new team members to be part of our dynamic regional programme.

a. TEAM LEAD - scaling our extension service from smallholders to small estates

We are looking for a dedicated and practical individual to join our team as the Regional Regenerative Agriculture Lead. This role will focus on implementing and overseeing regenerative agriculture initiatives, particularly in the oil palm sector in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will possess strong vocational skills, practical field experience, and excellent communication abilities to effectively engage with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation Leadership: Lead the implementation of regenerative agriculture initiatives across the region, focusing on practical field activities.
  • Field Operations Management: Manage and coordinate field programs aimed at promoting sustainable practices among smallholders and advising large estates on regenerative agriculture techniques.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Develop and deliver training programs to field agents and stakeholders to enhance understanding and adoption of regenerative agriculture practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with smallholders, large estates, and local communities to foster partnerships and ensure effective implementation of initiatives.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Implement monitoring frameworks to track the progress and impact of regenerative agriculture activities. Prepare regular reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate knowledge exchange and learning events among stakeholders to promote best practices in regenerative agriculture.
Profile

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in agriculture or related fields, with a strong emphasis on field operations and implementation.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and coordinating field programs or agricultural projects.
  • Strong vocational skills and practical knowledge of regenerative agriculture techniques and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related fields. Practical experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the oil palm sector or with smallholders in Southeast Asia.
  • Familiarity with sustainable agriculture practices and certification schemes.
  • Fluency in local languages and understanding of local cultural contexts.
