Summary

Business Engagement Assistant under the Sustainable Commodities Program, plays a key role in building partnerships with companies to support sustainable business practices. This position focus on identifying and engaging with businesses from various sectors, such as retail and food industries, to promote more responsible sourcing and production. The responsibilities include conducting research, maintaining relationships with business stakeholders, and collaborating with external consultants to encourage sustainable initiatives. This role contributes to broader efforts to drive sustainable consumption and production, helping businesses align with global sustainability goals.

Job Description

  • Conduct mapping study on downstream industries including retail, hotel, food & beverage, and catering as part of developing companies database
  • Develop study to select potential companies to be closely engaged to increase their portfolio on sourcing sustainable palm oil domestically
  • Maintain engagement with companies, business associations, and other relevant stakeholders, in collaboration with external consultants.
  • Prepare monitoring and evaluation reports on company engagement to ensure progress and effectiveness of the collaboration.
Profile

Job Qualifications

  • A graduate degree in; economics, communication, business administration, marketing, international relations, environment, forestry, or similar major with experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in business process, business administration, marketing programs and any similar fields would be preferable
  • Proven ability to engage with private sector clients, manage databases, and maintain relationships.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability, conservation, and related topics, including in-depth knowledge of sustainability issues in the palm oil sector
  • Experienced working in retailers, hotels, restaurants and consumer goods manufacturers would be an advantage.
  • Excellent English communication skills, adaptable, and able to collaborate across teams.
