Description of the mission

Position Summary:

The post holder supports and executes school engagement activities as part of WWF Schools Programme. You will be part of a dynamic team in the Education and Outreach arm of the Conservation and Science Department of WWF-Singapore. Your main role will be to implement and innovate key activities for students and teachers in Singapore. You will work across the organisation - including but not limited to Operations, Fundraising and Communications, in developing and delivering high quality education and outreach programmes to educational institutions, corporations, and the public.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop educational materials on key sustainability issues such as climate change, biodiversity, circular economy, sustainable food, and marine conservation.
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day implementation of local projects, including school programmes, outdoor learning activities, and thematic talks.
  • Plan, lead, and facilitate outdoor learning experiences such as guided nature reserve walks and intertidal exploration sessions.
  • Conduct workshops and thematic talks for students across all levels
  • Organise outreach events to promote environmental awareness and engagement.
  • Ensure digitisation of resources and develop resources in line with online engagement tools.
  • Craft project proposals for new education and youth programmes.
  • Design, undertake and/or participate in citizen science research projects for students.
  • Timely execution of proposed activities and preparation of reports
  • Identify, recruit and manage external vendors relevant to programme needs
  • Coordinate and participate in project update meetings with project partners and key stakeholders.
  • Support projects - including Singapore-based field conservation programmes, upcoming new initiatives on community engagement and conservation, fundraising and communications work
  • Organise and coordinate meetings and workshops with internal and external staff, partners, government agencies and the public.
  • Be responsible for all legal compliance and risk management for your portfolio.
  • Support administrative tasks such as budget management, procurement and finance reporting.
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.

Profile

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s/Hons/MSc degree in environmental or biological sciences or related fields.
  • Demonstrated general knowledge of global sustainability, conservation and related topics.
  • Specific knowledge of local sustainability issues, terrestrial and marine life will be a plus.
  • Prior experience in conducting outreach activities such as workshops, talks, guided walks etc preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience working in education, conservation, sustainability, natural resource management or related fields
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ideally First Aid, CPR, and AED certified.
