Roles and responsibilities of the Head of the Environment Department

As Head of the Environment Department, the roles and missions are many and varied. Firstly, I am responsible for protecting, preserving and enhancing the environment and its resources. This involves activities such as strategic planning and supervision of environmental programs, projects and initiatives. I must also ensure that appropriate environmental policies, regulations and practices are put in place, maintained and enforced. Secondly, I am responsible for managing a team and providing technical support and advice to all staff members, as well as to government authorities and agencies, and for integrating environmental issues into plans and programs. I also liaise between the various departments and the Environmental Department, and oversee the development of budgets and resources needed to implement environmental activities. Finally, I provide reports and monitor results. I also organize workshops and conferences to inform people about the environment and its issues, and encourage them to adopt more environmentally-friendly practices.
