ABOUT THE POSITION:
This position contributes to the Company’s success by ensuring an efficient compliant structure to the balance sheet and income statement to support global operations through strategic projects accounting and controllership
Responsibilities:
The Controller for Southeast Asia & Taiwan here after ‘Controller SEA/TW’, will report to the APAC Controller and will serve as a true business partner to the APAC and Global Accounting and Finance and Tax teams.
The Controller SEA/TW will be responsible for assessing financial results, delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, and assisting with cash management functions.
Importantly, the Controller SEA/TW will support with an analytical mindset.
The Controller SEA/TW is responsible for supporting risk quantification initiatives and provide routine reports on such findings.
The Controller SEA/TW will demonstrate a collaborative team approach and consistently provide responsive communication to business leaderships covering not only in SEA but the whole of APAC Region for the finance function.
Under the Leadership of the Controller for APAC, as theController SEA/TW, you are expected to:
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
- Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
- Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions.
- Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development.
- Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies.
· Co-Own the Income Statement and Balance Sheet for Singapore, Taiwan, Philippines.
· Support the preparation of budgets, financial forecasting, and financial modelling.
· Collaborate to support APAC Finance and Global Accounting Teams with analysis, and articulate variance to forecasts and budgets (which includes preparation and/or monitoring of various templates, schedules, and reports generated via Fluence IT and ERP systems and/or other financial reporting systems).
· Support financial audits and provide analysis & reconciliations with recommendations to close findings, monitoring the timely implementation of corrective actions.
· Conduct regular reviews of balance sheet accounts and discuss with APAC Controller, APAC FP&A, APAC Tax, Global Accounting and Tax Teams, issues, concerns, and financial-related risks defining actions to resolve them.
· Support tax filing activities for SEA (which may include manual preparation of tax returns).
· Perform other support and reporting activities as may be required by the APAC and Global Finance and Accounting Team from time to time.
· Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
Establish (in coordination with CFO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.
Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.
· Support SOX & compliance requirements as needed.
Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
· Support global & regional metrics initiatives on analysing services provided by AP & T&E functions.

What should an interested candidate bring to Fluence?
· More than 7 years of broad financial leadership, with an accounting degree and preferred to have MNC/corporate finance experience.
· Strong financial and accounting background, including an understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.
· Broad financial experience including but not limited to accountancy, regulatory reporting, and FP&A.
· Ability to interact across all levels of stakeholders of different cultures.
· Have ability to accept and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
· Be a supportive contributor to progressive thinking and growth.
· Experience within or exposure to clean energy is desirable.

· More than 5 years working experience on ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, and similar systems)
· Must have strong Microsoft tools skills and advance knowledge on Excel (e.g. formulas/functions, pivot’s, macro's v-lookups), PowerPoint, MS Word advance features, & Adobe sign.
