Description of the mission

Foundation for Shared Impact (FSI) is seeking a motivated Program Manager or Program Associate to join the Community Business Support team to take the program to the next level. This role will coordinate day-to-day delivery of CBS projects, including the Mentorship Program and Project GuideFong initiatives, manage event logistics, steward partnerships and volunteers, curate and coordinate community-facing communications, and conduct impact monitoring and reporting for the project funders.

The role is very hands-on, requiring strong organisational and interpersonal skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to community-centred programming that empowers and promotes local under-resourced entrepreneurs in Hong Kong. This role demands skills and experience in program management as well as stakeholder communication and collaboration to ensure a fruitful and beneficial experience for all involved - including youths in Hong Kong whom the Program Manager or Program Associate will manage.

While this role will report directly to the Executive Director of FSI, there will be significant collaboration with the different members of the FSI team who also support the Program, including FSI’s Community Business Support Program Senior Associate, Youth Program Manager, and Communications Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the development, planning, and delivery of existing and new CBS initiatives in collaboration with other FSI team members.
  • Oversee end-to-end program management, execution, and logistics for CBS activities.
  • Design and lead GuideFong walking tours and community outreach sessions to establish rapport with ethnically diverse and grassroots small businesses and source projects for direct business support.
  • Design, develop, and run the “GuideFong Ambassador” program to recruit, train, and manage youth interns and community volunteers, including those coming from underprivileged backgrounds, to support GuideFong businesses and events.
  • Develop and manage Project GuideFong’s social media channels and content calendar; create or commission engaging digital content (e.g., short- and long-form videos, social media posts, business spotlights).
  • Grow FSI’s CBS community, including the GuideFong directory, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data published and shared.
  • Monitor program outputs and outcomes, as well as stakeholder feedback, for impact measurement and reporting through quantitative and qualitative means.
  • Perform other duties related to CBS Programs as requested by the Executive Director.

Profile

Eligibility and Preferred Background:

  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience required.
  • Experience in project management or event coordination is required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, community engagement, and relationship-building skills, including professionalism, ease, and confidence in liaising with small business owners, youths, volunteers, and corporate partners.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends/evenings for events.
  • Responsible, proactive, committed, and driven work ethic.
  • Good technology literacy and proficiency in using digital tools (or a willingness to learn how to use digital tools).
  • Skills in social media management, visual design, digital marketing, content creation, photography, and/or video production are preferred.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required; proficiency in Cantonese, Urdu, Hindi, or Nepali is a significant advantage
