Fugee Org is a leading non-profit providing refugee education services in Malaysia. Fugee School is the heart of the organisation, established to ensure no child would be left out of school due to their refugee status.

Fugee School is seeking a skilled programme coordinator to lead the development, implementation, and growth of its innovative play-based Early Childhood Development programme for refugee children. This position focuses on the organisational, operational, and partnership aspects of delivering quality early education. The ideal candidate possesses strong management skills and project coordination experience, with a commitment to driving excellence in the unique context of refugee education.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Management:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive annual work plans, including team building, objectives, activity design, and budgeting.
  • Work with, recruit, onboard, and supervise a committed team of ECD educators and employees.
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with local and international organisations, potential funders, and other ECD stakeholders.
  • Oversee the smooth and timely implementation of all planned ECD activities, ensuring adherence to project scope and timelines.

Program Development and Collaboration

  • Consult with ECD experts to guide the development of a play-based, refugee-centred curriculum.
  • Facilitate collaboration between ECD consultants, educators, and community stakeholders to refine the Fugee ECD model.
  • Manage the adaptation of best practices, ensuring suitability for the refugee context.

Pilot, Refinement, and Resource Development:

  • Coordinate the pilot implementation of the Fugee ECD approach, working closely with on-the-ground staff.
  • Gather and analyse program data to evaluate effectiveness and guide refinements.
  • Collaborate in the development and management of educational resources, assessment tools, and training materials.

Capacity Building and Scaling:

  • Act as a liaison with potential partner organisations interested in adopting the Fugee ECD model.
  • Provide technical guidance and capacity-building support to partners implementing the model.
Profile

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Management, Education, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management, program coordination, and strategic planning.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and a passion for early childhood education.
  • Familiarity with the challenges of working with refugee populations is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Budgeting, data analysis, and report writing skills.
