Objective of the role: To lead and oversee all financial and legal activities and initiatives of the company and ensure we use capital and resources beneficially, legal compliance, and providing strategic guidance to the executive team. The objective is to drive financial stability, legal resilience, and overall organizational success through effective financial and legal management.
The responsibilities and functions include:
- Drive value through identification of revenue, margin and cost opportunities effective management of the company’s P&L
- Deliver and develop operating and financial plans that help in decision-making and this will include building the financial models and a 12-month rolling forecast
- Establish quality and clean financial processes and reports
- Drive and manage business support and business excellence, strategic projects supporting the CEO, driving process improvements across the organization and external projects
- Drive and manage investment related projects, supporting the CEO with investor updates, raising capital
- Oversight of relationship development and management with clients, partners, vendors and other stakeholders that will aid the company in achieving a healthy working capital
- Provide timely management reports that provide insights to stakeholders and investors which would include all the financial metrics (Sales, Opex, Profit Margins, Runway)
- Collaborate with different department leads in designing and implementing monitoring tools and data-driven models that will allow the teams to gain an in-depth understanding of the key business metrics
- Spearhead the building and optimization of the internal and external finance team, including staffing, business continuity planning (includes short to long term absences), performance management, capability building, and engagement
- Ensure that the collection of customer, client and consumer data is gathered in compliance with relevant and appropriate data collection standards - particularly when it comes to data privacy and related legislation and requirements in each jurisdiction in which Humble operates
- Implement internal audit programs.
- Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations, including HR, Compliance, Health and Safety, Transportation, Storage, Insurance of assets, public liability concerns, data protection etc.
- Ensure the internal controls, statutory filing and map regulatory and tax risks of the company, and establish identify appropriate actions to resolve this
- Coordinate with P&C for smooth administration of payroll, performance management, termination processes and government compliance payments and remittances
- Manage financial partners and vendors effectively, including vendor management, debtor management, investor management, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of reports and compliance to regulatory requirements
- Ensuring Humble’s compliance to all legal requirements.
- Create, communicate and maintain existing document control for all SOPs and templates across the organization with the review and approval structure.
- Conduct and implement internal audits of processes.
- Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of contracts and agreements.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements in all contractual matters.
- In coordination with the CEO and relevant unit heads, ensure that the business support function provides appropriate guidance and support , overseeing administrative and operational activities.
- Prepare and distribute regular updates, reports, and presentations for investors.
- Lead and manage strategic projects to support organizational goals.
