The content specialist role is responsible for the development and execution of long-form written content and video content to be used across Jiva’s corporate blogs, website and social media platforms. From time to time, the content specialist will be required to submit articles for traditional print media and their digital equivalent in addition to Jiva’s owned platforms.

The purpose of this content is to communicate Jiva’s purpose, achievements and brand to prospective employees, partners and investors, and support the development of Jiva’s external reputation.

As part of this role, content specialists will need to work collaboratively with individuals across the business to collect and generate content, including through interviews and copy-editing existing content. There may also be times when field trips to see Jiva’s operations in villages may be necessary to help capture the impact Jiva is driving.

Jiva’s corporate brand team is purposefully lean, to ensure that there’s ample opportunity for ownership, and improved speed of delivery. This role will be fast paced, with plenty of space for personal growth and autonomy.

Key Accountabilities

  • Executing the creation of various digital and traditional media assets to be used across our Indonesia, Singapore, and India offices. Content includes long form articles for use on digital and traditional media platforms and blogs, as well as videos, podcasts and other relevant mediums.
  • Creations, ownership and delivery of a monthly content calendar in line with key business objectives for corporate content.
  • Support the development of internal communication across Jiva for internal initiatives and improved company culture
  • Assist translations from various teams, external use, recruiting and HR initiatives, company-wide announcements, town halls, and others
  • Work collaborative with teams across the business in the development of new content for Jiva, as well as supporting content initiatives specific to their functions (e.g Design and product thought leadership)
  • Conduct surveys and interviews with Jiva’s farmer and rural entrepreneurs and work with others to turn relevant data into marketable content
  • Continue to develop Jiva’s SEO strategy across blogs and websites to increase traction of Jiva’s website
  • Support the continuous improvement of Jiva’s website copy, and future development of additional pages and content for Jiva’s website.

  • Skilled in SEO strategy and it’s applicability to website copy, blogs, and other online mediums
  • A confident video creator for interviews and short video overviews
  • Eager to work in a rapidly changing, dynamic start-up environment;
  • Is a purpose-driven individual with a deep alignment to our mission to help smallholder farmers
  • Able to speak and write English and Indonesian fluently.


  • University degree in Literature, Writing, Journalism, marketing and communications, or significant relevant industry experience
  • minimum 3 years experience as a content creator/specialist for a startup, technology company, branding agency or public affairs agency
  • Experienced in writing long-form articles for digital and traditional publications
  • Proficient in video editing, storyboarding videos, and script writing
  • Experienced in creating and owning content calendars, and ensuring timely delivery against deadlines
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Bahasa
  • Experience in writing articles for traditional media and notable online publications is a bonus
