đŸŒ» Your Role as Co-Director

We are looking for a leader who feels at home both with strategy and with soil under their fingernails. Someone who can hold the big picture of where Leng Dei is going, while staying grounded in our values of curiosity, care and community.

In tandem with our founder Monorom, you’ll guide the garden into its next chapter, ensuring it thrives as a place of learning, joy and sustainability.

đŸŒŸ What You’ll Be Doing

  • Nurture Our Vision & Strategy
  • Provide clear, values-based leadership for Leng Dei’s growth and evolution.
  • Shape and implement a long-term strategy that integrates education, ecology, and social innovation.
  • Ensure all programs, partnerships and operations align with our mission of soil care, food literacy and environmental learning.
  • Share our lessons and stories in Cambodia and beyond, through talks, writing, or simple storytelling.
  • Grow Programs Sales & Partnerships
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive programs sales and partnership strategy.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with schools, NGOs, government, donors and partners who believe in the power of soil and experiential learning.
  • Mobilize resources creatively—through programs, workshops, memberships, events and earned income opportunities—while keeping our values at the center.
  • Oversee transparent financial reporting and timely delivery of commitments to partners.
  • Represent Leng Dei at gatherings, amplifying our authentic and inspiring voice.
  • Care for the Team & Culture
  • Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing, purpose-driven team.
  • Create a workplace rooted in joy, curiosity, respect and wellbeing where people feel valued and empowered.
  • Ensure role clarity, growth opportunities and accountability through mentoring, performance reviews and professional development.
  • Foster effective internal communication and alignment across the organization.
  • Keep Operations Steady & Healthy
  • Lead organizational planning, budgeting, and operational excellence to ensure sustainability and resilience.
  • Review and strengthen internal systems (finance, HR, project management, communications).
  • Ensure legal registration, compliance with regulations, and fulfillment of all contracts.
  • Implement sound risk assessment and mitigation processes to safeguard the organization.
  • Track and evaluate impact, helping tell the story of how Leng Dei changes hearts, minds and actions.
  • Care for the physical space so every visitor feels welcome, safe and inspired.

🍄 Why Join Us?

Leng Dei has been lovingly nurtured and self-financed to this point, with only very limited resources available today and a team of 4 (2 full-time, 2 part-time). We are now entering a new chapter, with tangible and intangible assets built over years (unique identity and mission, physical educational food garden and community space in Phnom Penh, influential network of collaborators and customers), and a strong pipeline of opportunities already in motion. The Co-Director role is therefore critical in co-building and sustaining its own funding base—through partnerships and program sales.
