The Context

Makesense aims to continuously be a driver for massive, people-driven movements that Makesense is an international design and innovation organization that spurs social change towards sustainability and inclusivity. We work with diverse stakeholders to bring about social and behavior change, and systems change through our unique, tried-and-tested methodologies in innovation, community mobilization, and strategic communications.

Founded in France in 2010, Makesense has a rich history in developing and implementing programs and tools to facilitate organizations’ contributions to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Today, Makesense has 4 hubs across the globe, all working towards enabling social good in various sectors.

At Makesense Asia, our programs focus on sustainability, clean energy, public health, circular economy, inclusive employability, and innovation. We implement social and behavior change strategies in all of our programs. Our communications team enables this mission through impact-driven strategic communication projects, ensuring that we empower Filipino advocates to influence the narrative landscape and enact social change.

It is our dream to (1) mainstream progressive narratives that are strategic to social change, and (2) amplify marginalized voices and bring these closer to centers of power and influence.

Your Mission

As a Communications Officer, you will lead the implementation and coordination of makesense Asia’s communication initiatives across programs, partnerships, and campaigns.

You will oversee the development of compelling content, manage digital communication channels, coordinate communication campaigns, and support lead-generation efforts to strengthen engagement with communities, partners, funders, and stakeholders across the region.

Your work will contribute to increasing makesense Asia’s visibility, audience engagement, partnership opportunities, and participation across programs and initiatives.

You will work closely with Program Teams, Leadership, and external collaborators to ensure that communication efforts align with organizational priorities, campaign objectives, and growth goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Communication Strategy and Coordination

  • Support the planning and execution of communication strategies aligned with organizational, campaign, and engagement goals.
  • Contribute to audience growth and lead generation efforts through targeted communication campaigns and digital engagement initiatives.
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen visibility, partnerships, and community participation through communications.

Digital Channel Management

  • Oversee content calendars and ensure consistent publishing schedules across platforms.
  • Upload, update, and maintain website content using WordPress or similar platforms.
  • Monitor digital engagement trends and recommend improvements to audience reach, conversion, and engagement performance.
  • Support the growth of makesense Asia’s online communities, mailing lists, and program interest pipelines.

Content Development and Storytelling

  • Support the development of communication materials including social media content, articles, newsletters, campaign materials, and partner-facing assets.
  • Translate program outcomes, community stories, and insights into engaging and accessible narratives.
  • Coordinate the documentation of activities, events, and impact stories across programs.
  • Review and quality check communication materials before publication or dissemination.

Campaign and Event Support

  • Support communication campaigns designed to drive registrations, applications, partnership interest, or community engagement.
  • Coordinate communication assets and audience outreach efforts to support campaign conversion goals.
  • Develop or oversee the preparation of communication assets such as presentation decks, posters, social media kits, and digital materials.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, creatives, vendors, and external partners to support campaign execution.
  • Support live coverage and post-event communication documentation when needed.

Public Relations Support

  • Support external communication and visibility efforts with partners, collaborators, and media contacts.
  • Assist in preparing press releases, communication briefs, and partnership visibility materials.
  • Help maintain positive relationships with communication partners and stakeholders.
  • Ensure partner visibility requirements and branding guidelines are properly implemented.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track communication and lead generation metrics including engagement, reach, inquiries, registrations, audience growth, and conversion performance.
  • Prepare communication reports and insights to support data-informed communication and outreach strategies.
  • Maintain organized communication assets, templates, and documentation.
  • Support the continuous improvement of communication workflows and processes.

Logistical Information

  • Start date: June 1, 2026
  • Contract type: Full-time
  • Work hours: We have a flexible work arrangement but our core work schedule is Monday to Friday 9:30 am to 6 :30pm.
  • Location: Work From Home but we have an office in Ortigas Business District and we come to the office as needed
  • Compensation: PhP 36,000 gross salary package

Your Profile

  • You are a graduate of any university or college with ideally 2–4 years of relevant experience in communications, lead generation, marketing, media, partnerships, or related roles.
  • You have experience creating communication materials such as social media content, articles, newsletters, presentations, or digital campaign assets.
  • You have experience supporting audience engagement, campaign outreach, community growth, or lead generation initiatives.
  • You are familiar with digital tools such as Canva, Google Workspace, Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp, WordPress, or similar platforms.
  • You have working knowledge of social media management, digital communications, and basic performance tracking.
  • You are organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • You enjoy collaborating with different teams, partners, and external stakeholders.
  • You are proactive, resourceful, and comfortable balancing creativity with execution.
  • You are interested in social impact, sustainability, entrepreneurship, innovation, or development work.

A degree in Communication, Media Studies, Marketing, Development Communication, or related fields is preferred but not required.

What Would Make You An Outstanding Candidate?

  • Experience supporting communication campaigns for social impact, nonprofit, or development organizations
  • Basic experience using WordPress or website management tools
  • Skills in graphic design, photography, or video editing
  • Experience engaging with communities, youth groups, or advocacy networks
