Role in a nutshell
In this role, you will:
- lead the design and implementation of makesense Asia flagship projects that aim to deliver system change, in particular, those in underprivileged workforce development and social enterprises incubation
- nurture high-level relationships with makesense Asia network of partner organisations and other key stakeholders
- develop and fundraise for new projects that can deliver transformational outcomes
- actively contribute to the effective development of current and new workstreams by using your substantial content expertise in systems-change, incubation and impact ecosystem building
Your Key Responsibilities
1 - Co-Leadership & Strategy
- With the support and collaboration of the makesense Leadership team, steward the organization’s long-term sustainability through strong governance, resource planning, and alignment between mission, money, and method.
- Represent Makesense in key coalitions and partnerships related to climate innovation, workforce development and social impact.
2- Co-Lead Incubation Programmes (Climate & Circular Economy - so far)
- Supervise the design and implementation of entrepreneurship and incubation programs that support innovations in nature-based and circular solutions.
- Build partnerships with the private sector, government, and funding institutions supporting green innovation.
- Identify and integrate operational and financial models that ensure long-term viability of Makesense’s sustainability programs.
- Mentor program managers to align incubator operations with strategic and financial goals.
3- Lead workforce development programmes
- Supervise the design and implementation of 2 workforce development programmes that support innovations in nature-based and circular solutions.
- Build partnerships with key stakeholders involved in these programmes
- Mentor program managers to ensure smooth delivery of the programs
5. Fundraising & External Representation
- Collaborate with the Makesense Asia Board and auditors to ensure transparent reporting and compliance.
- Identify and cultivate new funding opportunities aligned with the incubation and workforce development strategies (foundations, bilateral donors, corporate philanthropy, climate funds, etc.).
- Develop and maintain a healthy donor pipeline, including landscape scans, prospect research, and relationship tracking across priority geographies.
- Co-design funding proposals, ensuring alignment between donor priorities and programme objectives, budget realities, and long-term impact trajectories.
- Negotiate grant terms and secure commitments, working closely with leadership and finance to finalise agreements and ensure organisational compliance.
- Ensure donor stewardship, overseeing timely reporting, visibility commitments, and relationship nurturing to position the organisation for future renewals.
- Represent Makesense Asia in strategic partnerships, funder discussions, and regional networks.
Compensation package includes:
- Gross Monthly Salary: USD 2,500–3,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and final assessment.

- For candidates not based in Manila or Bangkok, the organisation may provide assistance with work visa processing and may offer one annual return ticket to the employee’s home country, subject to internal approval and compliance with local labour and immigration laws.
