Jobs_that_makesense (JTMS) is a platform developed by the international organization makesense, designed to accelerate the sustainability transition in Southeast Asia by helping people build careers in the green and social impact economy.

Launched in France in 2021, JTMS quickly became the leading impact job platform in the country. In 2024, we expanded into Southeast Asia, and are now serving over 20,000 monthly users and supporting over 1,000 green purpose employers across the region.

The Asia office of makesense is made up of 20 passionate professionals based in Manila, Jakarta, Bangkok, and Singapore. Five of us are dedicated to JTMS Asia, working hand-in-hand with our colleagues in France to scale a mission-driven product adapted to the Southeast Asian context.

About Your Mission

We are looking for an Events and Partnerships Officer to grow and engage our community of climate jobseekers and organizations across Southeast Asia. This role focuses on planning and executing events, building and managing event partnerships, and creating content and promotional materials to support event and community growth. You’ll be joining a small but high-performing marketing team composed of a Social Media Officer and a Digital Marketing & Traffic Performance Officer, working closely with our partnerships and partnerships team.

This is a strategic role for someone who thrives in early-stage environments, creating, testing, building from scratch, collaborating closely and fluidly using project management and other digital tools, and helping us scale a new community around careers in the impact sector.

Key Responsibilities

1. Events Planning and Execution

  • Plan and deliver at least 2 events per month across online and offline formats
  • Organize and execute workshops, masterclasses, informational sessions, and others, together with the team
  • Lead the execution of 2 Climate Career Forums per year
  • Manage event timelines, logistics, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure smooth end-to-end execution from planning to post-event follow-ups, including sending post-event communications and integrating participants into community groups

2. Content and Promotional Materials

  • Create and execute event visuals and promotional campaigns across channels
  • Develop content strategies to support event attendance and community growth
  • Set up and manage LinkedIn and Facebook event pages, Eventbrite, and invitations through Instagram for all events
  • Coordinate closely with the marketing team to roll out promotional campaigns
  • Develop and publish post-event content including event recap posts across platforms

3. Partnerships and Outreach

  • Identify and build partnerships to support events and expand the community
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to attract climate organizations and recruiters
  • Collaborate and coordinate with partners on co-hosted events and campaigns
  • Generate and qualify leads, and coordinate handover to the sales team

4. Engagement and Performance Optimization

  • Design strategies to increase event attendance and community participation
  • Foster peer-to-peer engagement through platforms like WhatsApp and LinkedIn
  • Share regular reports with insights on acquisition, engagement, and conversion

Profile

You are passionate about building the climate workforce in Southeast Asia and excited to make an impact. You thrive on connecting people, fostering communities, and creating meaningful marketing experiences. You enjoy taking initiative, collaborating across teams, and turning ideas into action.

Required Experience:

  • 2 to 4 years in Events Management, Project Management, Partnerships, or similar
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Digital Communications and Social Media Content Production to promote events
  • Experience in a fast-paced, small and agile environment such as a startup, SME, or digital platform
  • Past experience in HR tech or recruitment is a strong plus
  • Proven track record in managing events and facilitating conversations
  • Proven track record in building and engaging an audience/community

Desired Skills:

  • Proactive, very well organized, and capable of anticipating deadlines
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects with shifting priorities
  • Able to craft compelling copy and develop creative outreach strategies that drive participation and community growth.
  • Data-savvy and able to make decisions based on insight
  • Adept at creating a safe, inclusive, and professional community experience
  • Online facilitation and community engagement are second nature to you
  • Keen eye for design and enjoy creating visually engaging social media content and promotional materials
  • You enjoy creating engaging content and promotional materials that connect with your audience and drive community participation.
  • Fluent in English
  • A Southeast Asian language is a plus
