
Your Mission
Makesense Circle Academy is an 18-month incubation program under the EU-Philippines Green Economy Programme (SO3: Green Business, Infrastructure, and Finance) implemented by Expertise France, co-led by DTI Philippines, and co-implemented with the GGGI Philippines. Developed in partnership with Plastic Odyssey, the program will be supporting 7 recycling entrepreneurs to turn plastic waste into scalable, market-ready solutions that are environmentally sound, socially inclusive, and economically viable.
As Project Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the growth and success of startups participating in Makesense Circle Academy. You will coordinate program activities, engage founders and ecosystem partners, and ensure that entrepreneurs receive the support they need throughout their incubation journey.
This role combines startup support, community engagement, and program operations. You'll work closely with founders, mentors, partners, and the Makesense team to deliver a high-quality incubation experience while ensuring smooth project implementation.
Key responsibilities
1. Startup Incubation and Founder Support
- Serve as a key point of contact for participating startups throughout the incubation program.
- Support founders in navigating program requirements, milestones, and opportunities.
- Monitor startup progress against program milestones and maintain regular communication with participating entrepreneurs.
- Identify challenges faced by startups and work with the Project Lead to ensure appropriate support is provided.
- Coordinate mentoring sessions and facilitate connections between founders, mentors, experts, and ecosystem partners.
- Contribute to creating a positive and engaging founder experience throughout the program.
2. Project Coordination and Implementation
- Support the Project Lead in the day-to-day management and execution of the Circle Academy work plan.
- Coordinate the logistics and documentation of activities such as co-design workshops, training sessions, mentoring calls, and field visits.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, timelines, and outputs to ensure efficient tracking and reporting.
- Prepare administrative documents such as partner agreements, disbursement trackers, and activity summaries.
3. Partner and Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate with program partners, mentors, experts, and startup founders for schedules, communications, and deliverables.
- Liaise with Makesense’s internal teams (Finance, Impact, Communications, and HR) to ensure smooth coordination of activities.
- Provide logistical and communication support during events, workshops, and meetings.
- Represent the project in coordination calls and local field engagements when required.
4.. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)
- Support the implementation of surveys, feedback mechanisms, interviews, and other data collection activities aligned with the project's MEAL framework.
- Coordinate data collection processes and ensure the completeness, accuracy, and quality of project data.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends, challenges, opportunities, lessons learned, and actionable recommendations.
- Synthesize findings into reports, presentations, learning documents, and recommendations that inform program improvements and strategic decision-making.
- Support the Project Lead in the preparation of donor reports, impact reports, success stories, and other learning outputs.
- Assist in maintaining a centralized database of startup progress and impact metrics.
5. Financial and Administrative Support
- Assist in monitoring project expenses and budget utilization in coordination with the Operations and Finance teams.
- Track sub-grant disbursements and reporting requirements of startups.
- Support the preparation of liquidation reports, invoices, and supporting documents for donor compliance.
- Ensure all procurement and logistical transactions follow Makesense and donor guidelines.
5. Team Collaboration and Learning
- Work closely with the Project Lead and other team members to ensure coordination between workstreams.
- Participate in internal learning sessions and contribute insights for improving processes and tools.
- Support a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous learning within the team.

We’re looking for a coordinator and connector, someone who can juggle multiple tasks while engaging with diverse actors.
What would make you outstanding
- Experience supporting startups through incubation, acceleration, mentoring, entrepreneurship, or MSME development programs.
- Experience in monitoring, evaluation, learning, research, impact measurement, or donor reporting.
- Experience facilitating workshops, founder communities, learning sessions, or ecosystem events.
- Comfortable working with both grassroots organizations and high-level partners.
- Ability to adapt quickly, problem-solve, and keep things moving even under pressure.
- Passion for sustainability and hands-on experience in green entrepreneurship or social innovation.
Logistical Information
- Start date: July 6 2026
- Contract type: Fixed Term, 1.5-year contract
- Work hours: We have a flexible work arrangement but our core work schedule is Monday to Friday 9:30 am to 6:30 pm.(40-hour work-week)
