NIRAS is a multi-disciplinary engineering company with a strong footprint in Offshore Wind in Europe and Asia-Pacific. We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our Environmental team in the Philippines with an interest to work with our Offshore Wind and renewable energy practice to further our activities in the Philippines jointly with our team in Manila and Taiwan.
You have more than five years’ experience of working in the environmental sector in the Philippines delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (ECC), Environmental Social Impact Assessments or other environmental consents for projects in the Philippines and looking to expand your career into the Marine Environment sector with a strong focus on Offshore Wind.
The role will work from our office in Manila and report to our Offshore Wind hub in Taipei, Taiwan and work closely with our colleagues in the United Kingdom and Denmark.
Role and Responsibility:
(1) Project management of environmental and consenting projects
(2) Authoring and quality assurance of technical reports in English and / or Tagalog
(3) Quality Assurance and management of suppliers
(4) Stakeholder and client engagement
Requirement:
(1) Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
(2) 5 years of work experience in Environmental Impact Assessment or similar disciplines
(3) Excellent communication and technical writing skills
(4) Proven project management skills
(5) Ability to work in international teams across different disciplines
(6) Ability to work in a complex and fast moving working environment
(7) Good command of English
(8) Readiness to travel within the Philippines
Following are considered a plus:
(1) Experience working on EIA / ESIA in renewable energy projects
(2) Experience working on EIA / ESIA type projects for Donor Projects.
(3) Experience in working in energy related projects in the Overseas Donor market
(4) Background in either of those disciplines: Forestry, Stakeholder Engagement, Wildlife Biologist, Marine Biologist
(5) Experience in using or applying GIS.
(6) Experience working for an Engineering or Environmental Consultancy
(7) Command of another Asian Language at fluent level, e.g. Mandarin, Japanese or Vietnamese
(8) Overseas work or studies
(9) Knowledgeable in project management tools such as but not limited to Asana, Monday.com, MS Project
