Creating a Wasteless World - Stopping Plastic from Entering the Ocean while Empowering Coastal communities
Game Changers wanted! Are you looking for a challenging opportunity at a trailblazing and fast-growing impact company that combines positive social and environmental impact?
Founded in 2013, Plastic Bank is a social impact scale-up creating a movement of Ocean Stewards spread all around the world. By collecting, recycling and reprocessing ocean-bound plastic and supporting collector communities (all on our blockchain-secured platform), we help reduce the need for virgin plastic while creating lasting positive environmental, social, and economic impact.
Come join our Plastic Bank team and make your mark in changing the world’s relationship with plastic.
The mission for this role is leading the acquisition of new customers for our Impact Program and taking ownership of generating new revenue streams for the company in the Philippines.
Importantly, a new legislation took effect in 2023 in the Philippines and companies are now required to use recycled plastic and/or contribute to a plastic offset program. A minimum of 20% of their plastic footprint has been mandated for the year 2023. Note that the targets will increase over the years, with a target of 80% by 2028. The new legislation is called EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility). This represents a huge business opportunity for Plastic Bank in the country.
We are looking for candidates based in The Philippines. This role is home-based / fully remote.
